About this deal

To verify model-specific info on these methods, refer to the instructions supplied along with the product. Several buyers found that either the CD player or cassette player stopped working after a few months, suggesting issues with reliability.

Chances are you probably know all there is to know about Currys, but if you don’t then here’s a little more detail about them. Now the mega bass button, while it is true it boosts bass, it also boosts mids and highs aswell, so it should really be called a "loudness" button. The disc tray is not going to open, cast a disc or even close. A cassette tape will not play, fast-forward or perhaps rewind properly. A good error code or message is displayed while attempting to play a COMPACT DISC.The "electronic" buttons on the top often seem to ignore my presses. Sometimes the boombox would do something that I didn't command it to do, such as decreasing volume when I press the increase volume button, or it switches to TAPE mode when trying to power it off. I have to press the power button a few times to turn it on. I have no clue why it does this. This began happening about a year after I got it. Thank you for taking the time to read our SONY CFD-S70 Boombox review from the Radios category. Luemen, I have several "discman-type" portable CD players, though none with Bluetooth. These portable CD players function satisfactorily for playing my large CD collection, even connected to my main hi-fi audio system. Depending on your age, the cassette player could either be the main reason why you’re interested in this product, or it might be completely irrelevant to you. If you have a large collection of tapes collecting dust, the Sony CFD-S70 Boombox will let you rediscover them. You can also use it to record from the CD player or the radio, though the recording quality isn’t especially clear. One time I managed to get it to play at a loud volume when turning it on right after turning it off with the volume level literally at 0. Does this thing have a computer with faulty firmware? Electronics these days... The sound quality for its size is decent enough, the cd player is crisp and quiet in running operation an the tape plays crisp and clear, HOWEVER, do not attempt to make any decent recordings with this unit, the tape transport uses a cheap permanent magnet as an erase head, therefore recordings will have a lot of noise, here is the reason why i did my first modification. Right, this little player is great for a bedroom, but i have modified mine and ill tell you why in a minute...It’s important to note that the product doesn’t contain a built-in microphone, so you can’t use this cassette player to record yourself. Some people buy the Sony CFD-S70 Boombox with the intention of recording themselves practicing an instrument, and only later realise that this isn’t possible. Ease of use Validate the disc that will you are trying to play will be supported by the player. switch or function available for the particular player, ensure that the particular switch or maybe the function is set AWAY. A higher quality alternative is the Roberts ZoomBox2, which arguably has better sound quality than the Sony CFD-S70 Boombox and also offers DAB radio and a USB port for playing MP3s, though again it doesn’t feature a cassette player.
