About this deal

Though I’ll must admit, I sometimes still wear the flimsy original bracelet on warmer days. It’s not the best quality, but light and comfortable enough for when it gets really hot out. There are some other options, though. This is especially helpful if you already own watches and watch straps with an 18mm width, so you can swap between them.

One of the great things about the Seiko 5 line is that many of the watches come in well under 40 millimeters. This SNXF05 measures just 37 millimeters across, but it’s given a boost in presence via the tonneau case. What’s really special about this watch is the dial, or to be more specific, the gridded pattern on the dial, which is something you just don’t really see today. Ditch the chintzy bracelet, slip on a neutral-colored leather two-piece strap, and you’re good to go. Still, the movement does its job well and will likely never let you down, which is a great thing for an everyday timepiece. The watch has a simple yet elegant dial. This watch proves that even the most simple and clean designs can be the most beautiful. In addition, its small size together with its sporty touches makes it extremely versatile. It is small and classic enough to slide under a cuff and sit discreetly on the wrist with formal clothing, but at the same time sporty and durable enough to be worn as an everyday timepiece. But over time, like most other things about this watch, not only did they grow on me, but I began to appreciate them more and more. That’s why I’ve bought this same exact watch THREE times. The Final Verdict The mechanical watches in the Seiko 5 collection have been enchanting watch lovers around the world since the early 1960s. It is one of the best-selling automatic watch lines worldwide and has always been aimed at sporty watch enthusiasts who are young at heart. The watch measures 38mm in diameter with a thicness of 12mm, not a bad size at all really. Some might say it’s a little smaller than the current average, but we’re only talking about 2mm or so, nothing to worry about really.

At the time, after wearing a dive watch for a couple of months, I thought the Seiko 5 looked too small and effeminate on me. It is a ‘smaller’ case size (37mm in diameter) and is maybe even smaller than average by modern day standards. If there is a SNXS77J1 it is made in Japan, has "Made in Japan" written on the dial and is more likely to have Arabic as the second language on the day dial. Everyone needs a watch that is just simply beautiful and in no way over the top. A watch that works no matter what you are wearing or for which occasion you are wearing it. The bit of extra height does help to add a touch of extra wrist presence, though not by much. 7S26 MovementOne more thing to touch upon is the automatic movement, now I love watches with this style of movement. They automatically wind themselves using the kinetic movement of your wrist which is an interesting feature. To keep the watch’s elegant design, it keeps its dial printing at a minimum. It has an ”Automatic” printing and applied Seiko and Seiko 5 logo. Seiko 5 SNXS77 Movement It has a domed crystal and a case that’s scratched up, and has so much character, in my opinion. What is a Seiko 5?

It doesn’t have any screws, or even pushpins, like most bracelets, so sizing it can be extremely difficult. In 2020, Seiko incorporated the 5 Sports series into the Seiko 5 collection. The collection thus comprises the Sports, Suits, Street, Specialist, and Sense series in addition to classic Seiko 5 models. While the Sports line mostly offers diving and pilot's watches, you'll find some colorful, stainless steel diving watches in the Suits line as well. The Seiko Sense and Street series are home to playful, multicolored designs. Lastly, the Specialist line features diving watches made of stainless steel, some of which have a bronze or golden exterior. The watch has Seiko’s proprietary Hardlex crystal, which is what we can expect from a Seiko in this price range. This is a good thing as other affordable watches in this price range tend to use regular mineral glass, which is less resistant to scratches than Hardlex. Seiko 5 SNXS73K dial I’m a fan of this simple, no nonsense dial design. It’s easy to read featuring a good amount of lume on the hands and hour markers for easier reading in dark conditions. The day and date display can also come in handy when required.

All in all the Seiko SNXS77 offers exceptional value for money in my view, it’s a classic design watch so not much in the way of any fancy bells or whistles going on with the dial etc. While the bracelet feels rather light and cheap, I must admit, it’s rather comfortable on the wrist.
