About this deal

If there are any negative comments about the S6’s tone, it’s that it can be a bit too bright for some people’s taste. That may depend on the type of strings that you use though! Seagull Guitars was founded by Robert Godin in 1982. They manufacture all of their guitars in and around Quebec, Canada. In fact, the S6 forced other manufacturers to raise their game if they wanted to be noticed. Nowadays, we can find more affordable quality budget classic guitars but, mostly, the entry-level market is just taken for granted. S6 Original Burnt Umber Presys II– Newer version comes with Fishman Presys II electronics instead of Godin Q1T.

Considering its price, the sound quality on the Seagull S6 is nothing short of exceptional. It delivers fun, upbeat tones that sound just as energetic as some guitars that cost more than twice its price. Although cedar is more susceptible to scratching and dents than spruce—there’s no penny pinching on this front. Beyond the tonal qualities of cedar, this wood ages faster. So, the maturity in tone will arrive in no time. Gig Bag: You will need an acoustic gig bag for safe storage and transport. The Seagull Standard Gig Bag is the obvious choice as it is tailor-made for these guitars. If you want other options, you can catch up on our best acoustic gig bag roundup. These are two great guitars. But both with two unique sounds. The BT2 has presence and midrange. Making it a nice guitar for use with slides.

Success

The tone of the Seagull S6 classical guitar has a bit of everything for everyone. It can give you a full-flavored resonant sound with depth and atmosphere; it can go to country-folk twang that cuts through the mix, and it can be soft and gentle. The qualities of this guitar extend to many players. Here are some scenarios where it’s the perfect guitar for you: This is helpful in a band setup. It’s a tone that’ll cut through the noise. For the lead guitarist, the Entourage is available in a cutaway. So, not only will you be heard, but you can also reach those high frets.

With its classic dreadnought shape and tonal warmth, the S6 Seagull deserves the attention of many guitarists. Let’s look at what we liked and what we didn’t. What We LikedApart from that, the Mahogany Deluxe A/E is the same as the S6?Original. i.e. it is a Dreadnought, has a 25.5? scale length, a 1.8? nut width and semi-gloss finish. Whether you prefer a Cedar, Spruce or Mahogany top, a dreadnought, parlor or concert hall shape and whether or not you want built in electronics or not, there should be a model that suits you. There’s a lot of attention to detail gone into making each guitar and it shows when you play one. Considering the build quality and the well-balanced tone, the S6 is worth much more. In its most basic form, the S6 Seagull doesn’t come complete with connectivity. If you’re a gigging musician playing larger venues, you may need this.

The point being doesn’t expect this guitar to sound like most beginner acoustic guitars, which is mostly dark, thin on the high end of the frequency, and with little-to-none versatility. Its choice of tonewood is not the typical spruce wood top common on most beginner guitars. Instead, the Seagull S6 uses a pressure-tested solid cedar top . This tonewood creates a unique guitar tone, it’s sturdy, it’s light, and it sets the difference.Satin finishes: Somewhere in-between gloss and matte, they have a moderate shine and they’re somewhat reflective. The Entourage uses a solid spruce top while the S6 is solid cedar. Therefore, we hear some differences. Tonewoods are integral to the sound of an acoustic guitar. The sound quality of the S6 Seagull is down to, in no small part, the quality of wood. As a dreadnought, you can expect the sound to project with loudness. The tapered body shape rounds off any boom sometimes associated with a dreadnought. Tone. An all-encompassing acoustic tone. The low end is warm, mids are crisp, while the high end supplies shimmer and sparkle.

Graph Tech heavily influences the guitar’s sound as well. Overall, it’s a feature you wouldn’t find on budget acoustic guitars. Instead, it belongs to high-grade instruments. It’s worth mentioning that the S6 Seagull doesn’t come with a case. So for long-term protection, a hard shell is a worthy buy. If you buy this from Sweetwater, they’ll ship the guitar in the case for extra protection. WarrantyWhat matters most is how the guitar sounds, and the Seagull S6 doesn’t disappoint in this department either. It has a warm timbre with a rich shimmer and twang. Compared to the usual Spruce tops, a cedar-topped guitar like Seagull S6 takes less time to break in and get that full tone. It still keeps getting better with time though. First, let’s say that the DX1-E is a low-end Martin. While the build quality is good, the woods are laminates. So, although it’s a durable guitar, it doesn’t have the premium sound of higher-priced models. The sound of this guitar is amazing. It's a dreadnought so the sound really resonates and sounds very rich. I could play this thing for hours and forget how fast time is passing by. Anytime I'm stressed, this guitar soothes me. Anytime I'm sad, this guitar produces beautiful sad sounds. When I'm happy, this thing can get loud and fill the entire house with major chords! I've had this guitar for 3 years now and it sounds better than before! At the price, you will struggle to find a guitar with the same quality of woods and North American build quality.
