About this deal

The RLC 811A uses PoE (Power over Ethernet), so you do not need to position it near to a power supply to use it. Run an Ethernet cable up to 330ft in length to the camera, connect the Ethernet cable to a PoE injector and connect the PoE injector to a power adapter inside your home.

These models are discontinued and not sold anymore, they will continue to work with Home Assistant. Turn on motion detection and the Reolink RLC-811A will start sending you push notifications when it has spotted movement. These can get a little overwhelming, so you can cut down on these by using the object detection feature. The Reolink RLC-810A is an outdoor, bullet-IP camera, and primarily a Power over Ethernet ( PoE) camera. It is IP66 ratedand can also be powered up with a 12 Volts, 1 Amp, D.C adapter with less than 12 Watts of power. Reolink has a slightly basic app, although it at least provides the features that you’d expect. After adding the Reolink RLC-811A to your home network, the app gives you a thumbnail view. Tap this and you jump into the live mode. Normally, the digits are printed directly under the QR code. Alternatively, you could scan the QR code and grab the last 4 digits.Videos are viewable through the camera’s clips section. There’s a timeline view, which is a little fiddly to navigate through but you can view clips in a long list of thumbnails.

Not so with the Reolink RLC-811A, which has a metal housing and a reassuring heft to its body. Eagle-eyed readers may spot that this looks very similar to the Reolink RLC-810A. There’s an 8MP sensor, with a maximum field of view of 101-degrees (horizontally). That’s a little tight for an outdoor model, although you should still be able to capture most of what you want. The Reolink RLC-810A is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) camera. This means the camera cannot directly be connected to a Wi-Fi network. You must have to use an Ethernet cable with the camera. If where you want to mount the camera is longer than 1 meter, then the Ethernet cable included in the box will not be enough. If you want to make Reolink NVR work with the camera, then its connection diagram will be like below:

When IR light entity is OFF always OFF, when ON IR LEDs will be on when the camera is in night vision mode, see the Day night mode select entity. Sensor entitiesAfter that you can disconnect the LAN cable and the camera will automatically switch to the Wi-Fi connection. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. As you can see, even though its FoV isn't that much larger, it does cover a decently larger amount of area both to the right and and bottom of the image. Unfortunately this does not always shows the latest available firmware (also not in the Reolink applications).

What had me really wanting to do this comparison is to see if the IR lights and spotlights are just as good on the 1212A. If you compare the specs between the two, you'll see that the 811A has 4 IR lights and 5 spotlights, compared to the 1212A which only has 2 IR lights and 1 spotlight. The specs even say the 1212A's 1 spotlight is brighter than the 811A's 5. (700 vs 450 lumens). Step 7. Tap on “ Set up Device”, you can choose a Group for the camera or you can SKIP this step. Tap on “ Continue” to finish the setup. You can choose to add an SD card to the camera if you do not want to use an NVR. You can not use Reolink's cloud storage with this model at the moment. However, cameras like the Reolink Go PT, Argus 3, Argus PT, and E1 Zoom do use this feature.

Step 6. Tap on " Discover Devices" or use the voice command " Alexa, discover devices". Alexa will scan and show the devices bound to your Reolink account. No IR, No spotlights, adjusted brightness: https://imgur.com/a/1oTQpSI (since the 811A was very dark in the previous set, this is after I played around with the brightness/contrast settings for both to get them to look as good as I could).
