Description

Mogu Mogu is a Nata de Coco juice drink, the jelly of the drink is made of coconut water and artificial ingredients. To make homemade Mogu Mogu I have used fresh coconut water to make it as healthy as possible. It tastes exactly like the Nata de coco jelly in mogu mogu. SUGAR The name Mogu Mogu comes from the Japanese term ‘to chew’. This, of course, refers to small cubes of nata de coco suspended in each drink. To make my Mogu Mogu more flavour full I have used this caster sugar. As the coconut water is already a little sweet you just have to add a little to give it a better flavour. If you want you can also use powdered sugar which is made by blending granulated sugar in the blender. Do not use brown sugar or jaggery. AGAR-AGAR Nata de coco, also known as 'cream of coconut', is made of sweet, flavourful juice of young, green coconuts. It is chewy and translucent with a soft, jelly-like texture and is produced by the fermentation of coconut water. In Asia, it is commonly found in desserts, fruit salads and ice creams or soft drinks. The consensus I reached on orange after drinking the whole bottle was that the orange flavour was really strong and tangy, so much so that it actually resembled an orange ice lolly or something like that more than an actual orange. This is not a bad thing, of course - a melted orange Solero or Callipo is what it reminded me of, and as the days are getting warmer in the UK, this was a pretty nice taste to be able to experience. It’d probably be quite interesting in that way if you mixed it on ice. If you like tart but sweet citrus flavours, I would recommend the orange; you can’t really go wrong with it. I’ll give this one a 7/10. Originating in the Philippines, Nata de coco most commonly is sweetened as a candy or dessert and can accompany many things including drinks, ice cream and desserts. They’re one of the best things about summer. Whether eaten on their own or perhaps with some ice cream or even atop a cake, strawberries routinely bring joy into my life. This drink is no different. To me, strawberry is a classic flavour for jelly, so there was something oddly nostalgic about this flavour. It’s another really solid flavour in the lineup, and if you like strawberry flavoured drinks then you need to make room in your fridge for this one! I'd give it a 8 out of 10.
