About this deal

Patients should also be reminded to continue applying AproDerm ® Colloidal Oat Cream once their skin has improved to prevent the risk of flare-ups.

AproDerm ® Ointment should not be prescribed if the patient has a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the listed ingredients

Precautions:

It's especially important to regularly apply an emollient to your hands and face, as they're exposed to the elements more than any other part of your body. AproDerm ® Colloidal Oat Cream should not be prescribed if the patient has a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the listed ingredients. Emollients are best applied after washing your hands, taking a bath or showering because this is when the skin most needs moisture. Use AproDerm ® emollients before bathing (pre-bathing) to help alleviate the drying effects of bathing. AproDerm Gel is a highly moisturising gel, without the greasiness of an ointment, which actively draws and retains moisture within the skin and provides a protective barrier to help reduce dryness and irritation. It is also an effective pre-bathing emollient so can be applied to skin prior to bathing to prevent it from drying out even further, whilst protecting it from the irritant effects that can be caused by washing and bathing products such as soaps, shower gels and shampoos.

AproDerm ® Gel can be used before bathing (known as pre-bathing) to protect the skin from the drying effects of bathing, as well as after bathing to skin that is almost dry to trap in moisture. Emollients can be applied as often as you like to keep the skin well moisturised and in good condition. Ideally, this should be done at least 3 or 4 times a day.If you have eczema or psoriasis continue using AproDerm ® Colloidal Oat Cream even after the skin has improved to reduce the risk of flare-ups. As with all emollients, before applying AproDerm ® Emollient Cream for the first time, patients should test it on a small area of skin and leave for 48 hours. If there is no reaction or irritation they can then apply all over the affected area. This limits any potential reaction to a small area. If you're using a steroid cream or another treatment for your skin condition, wait 20 to 30 minutes between using an emollient and using the other treatment. Ask a doctor which one to use first. If you experience any of these symptoms, talk to a GP, nurse or pharmacist. Safety advice when using emollients Fire safety

Recent research shows that oats have anti-aging properties. This is due to the beta-glucan found within them as it stimulates the production of collagen which, smooths out any fine lines and wrinkles. Another great reason to integrate AproDerm ® Colloidal Oat Cream into your daily skincare routine. 1 They can be used to replace lost moisture whenever your skin feels dry or tight. They're very safe and you cannot overuse them. Patch test their skin the first time that they use any emollient by testing an area of skin with a small amount of it and leaving for 48 hours – if there is no reaction or irritation they can then apply the emollient all over the affected area of skin.
