More would flow from the larger be3 upper holes they are less restrictive. At these settings, the scooter runs excellent up to about 3/4 throttle. Turning the throttle from 3/4 to full leads to a subtle feeling of the acceleration plateauing and lagging. I believe this means the main jet is slightly too small. I initially tried a 72 main, but went down to the 69 when I found it to be running weak. My sense is I need maybe a 70 or 71 main to get rid of the full-throttle flatness.

Knowing my speedo reads low I cable tied my Zumo on and headed out. I'm now hitting a GPS indicated 59 MPH, which I know is way less than what everyone claims here. I weigh 220, so I'm sure that's contributing. Turn the idle mixture screw first. Listen to the engine. If it sounds like it’s running faster, turn it the other way until it starts choking a bit. Each time only turn a quarter turn. Do it slowly as it takes about 5 seconds for the engine to show a reaction. You will hear the engine speeding up or faltering. Popped out the BE4 and put the BE3 in, drilled only 1 of the holes (recall my carb is the one where the idle jet is a plugged one). I'm already running a 120 main jet (yeah it's supposedly bigger than I need but my scooter did not like the 118). If personal data is processed basis on an express consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) point a GDPR, this data is stored until the data subject revokes his consent. You can now see that the amount the A/F added is teeny weeny from the idle mixture screw up the rev range. There has to be some A/F added, via this circuit upto WOT, as there is a fault with a T5 scooter which makes me believe this to be the case. (idle circuit emptys while riding, throttle off engine momenteraly dies).Naturally, if there is no spark then either your spark plug needs replacement or there is something wrong with the cable to the ignition coil. 3. Carburetor malfunction affects your Vespa performance The initial cause is just as important. Otherwise you will have problems with your Vespa soon enough again. What else can you do? Just to add to the above, it followed a few posts about carbs, obviously, but what isnt there but was mentioned before hand was,

I'm not too familiar with the dust boot you are describing, so I'm not sure on the hose you are describing. But in your shoes I would definitely look into what it is and make sure it's ok to be open (otherwise you may be introducing an air leak if that's say a vacuum line)Yes I agree, it does restrict the air, but it also speeds up the atmos on entering the mixer tube. So theres less air also. Would appreciate pointers on what to do, what to adjust. I used fishing line to clean jets -- worked OK on most; there was one where I was not able to push thru --- will try copper from electric cord/cable next. If you go for the E10 gas instead of the E5, you will be filling up your Vespa with more ethanol. This is alcohol that can lead to corrosion. Other parts made from rubber, plastic, and seals can damage too. We have written more in-depth info on what type of fuel and oil your Vespa needs to run properly. 2. Vespa cuts out due to bad spark plug Most often it is the carburetor that is affected by one of these elements. If the fuel flow is low then the fuel/air ratio in the carburetor will be off. The same if there is a leak in one of the valves. Then the carburetor receives too much air, which again will mess up the fuel/air ratio to the engine leading to low compression. As a result, you will have a Vespa that will be stalling at the traffic light.

A be5 has the same hole patern as a be3 but the upper holes in be5 are 1mm in dia a be3 1.5mm in dia.

Is how much A/F is being added to the atmospheric flow through ventuiri at a given throttle position, but mainly around 1/3 revs to WOT, by all 3 circuits, up and down the rev range. I just hate that the minute I get this running great I'm want to mess with it some more! ARGH! What say you? hey dabears If there are legal storage periods for data that is processed within the framework of legal or similar obligations on the basis of Art. 6 (1) point b GDPR, this data will be routinely deleted after expiry of the storage periods if it is no longer necessary for the fulfillment of the contract or the initiation of the contract and/or if we no longer have a justified interest in further storage. When the mixer is within the si carb, there is the same influence on all holes. Some atmos go's out the upper and the lower. The bigger the upper holes the less atmos gos out the lower holes.

You will notice that your spark plug isn’t working properly if you have difficulty accelerating, difficulty starting your Vespa, difficulty when idling, and feel that the engine just doesn’t run smoothly. eventually after 20 minutes of trying, it starts, and stays running --- but if I open the throttle, then the engine wants to die out. If I let go throttle, it recovers. The spark plug is screwed into the cylinder head at one end and a spark plug cap on the other. The spark plug cap is attached to a cable that runs to the ignition coil. In addition to this, is the venturi size, 20/20 fastest atmos lowest air content, 24/24 slower atmos more air content , 26/26 slowest still even more airrestriction yes. It works i think like this. The petrol is at the same level as float bowl. This is just under lower holes of mixer tube. I know for fact at rest it doesnt enter mixer tube. (paper down air corrector, another poster was ace with info, but i cant remember his name). The petrol level will lower when revs are applied, its being used. The float level has to lower to open the needle, to allow more fuel in.The rate at which the petrol rises up the mixer tube at revs,is set by the main jet. Smaller a/c only, the mixer performs the same'ish curve along the rev band, but the mix leaving is richer, (less air, atmos has linear effect on fuel) T5 just drill three 15 mm holes in carb tray cover. Never the air filter. These engines are fantastic as is. They just gulp loads of air, through the same size hole in the frame as a std px 125/150. If you kit a t5, take carb tray cover off completely. In addition to internal provider criteria, identity and creditworthiness information from the following credit agencies may also be included in the decision-making process as part of the application review in accordance with Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR: Test ride seemed strong, good pulling power from low speed, solid throttle response at high revs in 3rd, and 4th seemed strong. I have not hit more than an indicated 52 MPH before, and I was able to hit 55.
