The biggest issue we noticed when powering up the UR59C was its gamma curve. Initial measurements showed it to be skewed such that fine highlight and shadow detail were hard to see. Samsung brings their own feature set to whatever monitor they make. For the U32R590, that mostly means basic things like picture-by-picture and dual-screen functionality. Letting you split your screen into picture by picture mode is great for people who are trying to replace two monitors. The picture-in-picture mode is similar, but it allows you to operate the second screen as a separate entity. The Samsung U32R590 isn’t impressive in its default state when it comes to color quality. The VA module covers 105% of the sRGB color space, but its errors reach a Delta E of 3.4 which means some miscolorations will be noticeable. Gamma is also off at 1.9, washing out some of the imaging properties of the display.

The general theory behind a curved screen is that the shape mirrors the curvature of human eyes, and thus provides a more natural viewing experience. As opposed to the unnatural flatness of standard monitors, curved monitors are celebrated for their immersive nature, and allowing users to take advantage of their peripheral vision. As ViewSonic notes on its blog, human vision is based on length, width and height. Curved monitors “take advantage of all three dimensions” and increase peripheral vision. It looks good, and it’s also kinder on the eyes and can help reduce eye strain. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy. Moving on, the Samsung U32J590 input lag performance is brilliant, with only 10ms of imperceptible delay at 60Hz. now for the monitor. i should keep taking stars away, but i would be left with negatives. first the bezel"less". there is a bottom branded bezel, along with 1/8" of dead space. the other 3 sides all have 1/4" dead space. so you effectively have an internal bezel of non-usable screen real estate that still takes up the space a monitor that doesnt shave off inches does.In addition to standard alterations such as brightness/contrast, color temperature, input selection, etc., theSamsung U32J590 features Picture in Picture and Picture by Picture as well as Game Mode, which alters the gamma curvature for better visibility in dark areas of games. It feels as though this monitor wasn’t made for any specific person. The U32R590 doesn’t have next-generation color features. Having a billion colors to work with is certainly better than the more common alternative, but it’s not as good as high dynamic resolution (HDR) content.

Unless you have a special interest in colour representation - for example, photography, video, or creative projects - then the nitty-gritty of these standards are mostly irrelevant. Just aim for no less than 99% sRGB, and you’ll be fine. What is refresh rate? no vesa. you know, this is disheartening as vesa compatibility has almost become ubiquitous. so this was a choice. a choice made by someone who is completely out of touch with todays home and soho computing. its one thing to not include the vesa if you are going to give us a stand with lots of motion, and stability, and good materials. instead you get a cheap tube frame and about 5 degress of motion up and down, no side to side. the frame is so cheap , i assume, bcz they engineered the weight and design of the monitor to hold it steady. in this it is marginally successful, but only by using a lot of desk space. Apart from the features highlighted in its name, the Samsung U32R590 Curved UHD 4K Monitor also features quantum dot technology, an effective vertical alignment panel, and a number of similar perks. Depending on your viewing distance, going with 4K resolution usually makes sense on a 32” panel. In one sense, being 4K capable means this panel might be considered future-proof.

Ultra Wide Monitors

While it’s not game-breaking, we advise you to consider an IPS or TN display instead if you mainly play competitive first-person shooters. Now, this removes all screen tearing and stuttering as long as your FPS (Frames Per Second) stays within the 40-60Hz/FPS range if you select ‘Ulitmate Engine’ or 50-60Hz if you select ‘Standard Engine.’
