About this deal

Both Kat and Meg have a complicated relationship with the truth. How do their views on honesty differ? How do these differences affect their lives and relationships?

Lies of P requires you to make Lie or Truth choices over the course of your playthrough. These instances might seem innocuous at first, but they’ll become crucial as you progress further in the campaign, going so far as affecting which Lies of P ending that you’ll get, as well as one particular secret item. Eugenie and Alidoro, Part 2 (Hotel Krat and Relic of Trismegistus) Alidoro will admit that he’s an impostor and a murderer. Image: Neowiz Games via Polygon Our Lies of P Lie or Truth decisions guide discusses all of these moments. We also talk about the tasks that are undertaken prior to reaching these segments. Likewise, please be reminded that this guide contains spoilers. What do Lie or Truth decisions change in Lies of P? Puppets can’t lie, but P is quite special. Image: Neowiz Games via Polygon Location: Hotel Krat and Barren Swamp - Talk to Eugenie just before heading to the Barren Swamp and she’ll give you the Four-finger Glove that she made for Alidoro. Upon reaching the Barren Swamp, you’ll circle around the initial area and eventually meet up with Alidoro once more. Upon giving him the gloves, he’ll scoff at their poor quality. As Kat begins to stalk Meg, she provokes a meeting with her and slowly, a friendship of sorts evolves. She is somewhat surprised to discover how likable Meg is, yet she remains determined to expose her escapades for all to see. Meg, on the other hand, knows deception when she sees it, and finds herself wondering what exactly Meg may be hiding with her less than truthful persona. Location: Hotel Krat - A cutscene will play once you approach Antonia in Hotel Krat after defeating the King of Puppets boss in the Opera House. WOW. this story took me by storm. This is my first book from Julie Clark - I have yet to read the last flight - and I’m absolutely blown away. Julie really has a way of engrossing you so completely in the story that’s it’s impossible to look away. I finish this book in one setting, refusing to look away from my kindle for a single second. I stayed up in the wee hours of the morning, dying to know how Meg & Kats story finished. And it did NOT disappoint.

I am not usually one to reread books, but I can imagine myself revisiting this one - it was that good. I never thought I could love an anti-heroine so much but Meg deserved each praise I may give! She was fighter, survivor, smart, patient, cunning, loyal to girl code, easy to resonate! This detailed reading guide includes more than twenty book club discussion questions to help guide your conversation. So, let’s dive into some book club questions for The Lies I Tell! The SynopsisI really liked this book. Well written with interesting characters and plots. While there was no WOW moment or huge cliffhangers, it flowed well and was so intriguing that I read it in one day. I liked all the characters and felt like I knew them well. Interestingly I loved her more than Kat who is also suffering from big traumatic experience which affected to her relationships, career, life choices.

Meg escapes to Costa Rica, ostensibly to sit on the beach and read. She leaves all her notes on all her cons for Kat, telling her to use them to write a book. Kat instead decides to use Meg’s notes to go after Nate, becoming the grifter herself. The Review: A big thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Landmark, and Julie Clark for this advance reader copy! My reading experience with The Lies I Tell was very much like my time with The Last Flight, Julie Clark’s debut thriller. Both feature: Strong and complicated female protagonists with a story to tell, a fast-paced read, and many crazy twists and turns! Also, why are men so terrible?! I didn’t expect to read this in a day, but I was so deeply immersed into the story the second I was introduced to the iconic character, Meg Williams. Ugh, I can’t give anything away, but I truly love her and her cunning tactics! I cannot recommend this book enough. Meg is wild and wily, written with care and great depth. Every action she does is planned for steps ahead. Kat is careless, but brave, all heart. Her desire to see the best in everyone is both her greatest asset and deepest flaw.

Kat is a journalist who is relegated to writing fluff pieces and peddling them to various publications just to pay the bills. Meanwhile, she is on the hunt for that career-making story that has Meg at the center and will, not only make a name for herself but, provide closure as well. A story that started 10 years ago and whose leads seem to have dried up. Until Kat receives a Google Alert that she set ten years ago. Meg posits, "The difference between justice and revenge comes down to who's telling the story." What does she mean, and do you agree with her? This is a story of revenge and how nothing is quite as it seems. The story is told from the perspective of the two female lead characters Meg and Kat. Meg is a conwoman who was conned herself as a child with devastating results. This event has shaped her future. Kat is a reporter who was a victim of a crime and holds Meg responsible and she wants revenge on Meg by exposing her cons.

All characters need growth, even con artists! I don’t really believe that real-world con artists are anything like Meg; however, I don’t really view Meg as a true con artist. She’s a vigilante, exacting her own brand of justice in a world where too many people have the ability to evade it. It’s that quality, I think, that allows us to root for her. Meg’s ability to charm people and take on different personas is a key part of her con artist persona. Do you think it’s possible to change your personality to suit different situations, or is this something that only exists in fiction? This is an extremely intricate and detailed book, you will not be able to put it down and on top of that, your mind will be blown. This book will have you questioning your own feelings about certain things and where you would place blame. Is revenge ever ok? Or do we let karma take care of those who have wronged us?

While this book is thrilling, it wasn’t exactly a thriller. There wasn’t exactly a reveal or twist, we just slowly find out whether Meg is successful. I guess there was a twist for Kat, but the reader already knew that Meg’s goal was righting wrongs rather than just screwing over random dudes. The Ending: Geppetto (Arche Abbey Upper Part) Geppetto wants to know if he’ll receive any Father of the Year awards. Image: Neowiz Games via Polygon
