Faster spray frequency, combined with rapid breathing mode, enhances the life-like quality of the mechanical beast. We wanted to take a G1 inspired approach to the vehicle livery and included a yellow accent to the side panels, to mimic his earthbound alt mode. There was no yellow on the bot mode in the film, so we limited the use of the panel accent to the side doors which would be hidden when the vehicle was transformed into the robot. Armed with his massive cannon, Ironhide feels right at home amongst the rest of the Autobots. Junkion Scrapheap and Buzzworthy Bumblebee Ironhide both use the 86-24 number, the first time the same number has been used for different characters between the two lines. Figure features vivid, movie-inspired deco, is highly articulated for posability, and comes with blaster and shoulder cannon accessories inspired by the film
Studio Series Wave 11 Leader, Rise Of The Beasts Mainline Wave 3 Beast Combiners & Beast Weaponizer, Earthspark Wave 3 Warrior & Deluxe In Hong Kong – 2005 Boards member Pixelmaster spotted SS-101 ROTB Scourge at Taikoo Shing. Also, ROTB Beast Combiners Optimus Prime & Lionblade and Beast Weaponizers Arcee & Cheetor plus Earthspark Warrior Starscream and Deluxe Nightshare showed up at Mong Kok. Part of the 15th wave of Studio Series Voyager Class toys, this Soundwave is an extremely accurate depiction of his appearance in the Bumblebee film. He transforms into a hovercraft that coincidentally evokes his alternate mode in Transformers vs. G.I. Joe " I Saw Three Ships". Like most of Bumblebee's Cybertronian characters, this alt mode was created by Hasbro and TakaraTomy as the film model was not designed to transform. He comes with a generic blaster and his signature shoulder cannon, both of which can store via 5mm ports on the sides of his vehicle mode but can also be attached via the prominent screw holes on the top which are also 5mm compatible. This was an odd review for me to work on because I really dig this figure even though it has a less than successful vehicle mode. I really loved the Soundwave design when he appeared on screen in the Bumblebee movie and I'm super happy to have it in action figure form. The transformation and alt mode are basically "neat extras" in my book. Additionally, due to the scale of the figure, we needed to get a lot of rise out of the limbs. Ejima Takio did an amazing job of keeping the onscreen height of this character, while allowing it to collapse into an ultra compact vehicle form, that would let this figure maintain the deluxe scale price point. The forearms were redesigned to have solar panels and slightly different "speaker" detailing, while also excluding the connectors for Laserbeak to perch on. Despite the Studio Series line's goal of being screen-accurate, the short length of his solar panels means that he is actually less accurate in satellite mode than his original Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Class toys. His robot mode design had also been completely revamped from its original design, which had been the basis for his appearances in the IDW movie comics and various other forms of tie-in media until 2020. That being said, it should be noted that his robot mode was never shown in the Revenge of the Fallen film itself and Studio Series has already produced a number of toys based on characters who did not have robot modes on-screen.Throughout these stages you can see the progression of how the model develops, and how closely we are able to maintain the proportions of the original design, while incorporating an an entire transformation form that was never created for the film with out sacrificing the integrity of the character."
