About this deal

I did some research online to ensure that it won't affect the coating and most of the detailers whom i queried were positive on applying BSD on top of the ceramic coat. SONAX is the market leader in car care products in Germany, and one of the leading manufacturers worldwide. However, this is my first Sonax Product and it is so exciting. The BSD was updated or improved some years ago and placed under Xtreme Line. The predecessor bottle was opaque and gray in color.

I did not dilute or mix BSD with anything. I simply sprayed it on a dry area and buffed it off using microfiber cloth.

SONAX

Since your car is coated with Ceramic, that too isn't very old, you won't notice any significant improvement with BSD or any other products. Wax could provide a little more depth because of the oils present in it, but BSD isn't going to do that. BSD as an standalone product, gives a very cold finish and not a warm finish like the wax. I also wasn't able to notice significant gloss on my paint with BSD but the water beading effect was surely there. If you want, you can try products with SiO2 content. Might show you better results than BSD. Now BSD was something which came into the picture long after I applied the 1st coat of Carpro Hydr02 and when it had started showing signs of

I had recently tried 2 of their products( Sonax Xtreme Wheel Cleaner,Sonax Xtreme Matt Effect)and was really amazed by the results. Taking a wild guess if its for more Hydrophobicity and Shine then the ceramic is already providing you one ,If you want to enhance both you can use products which are SiO2 based and are designed for Ceramic coated cars. I personally could not find any depletion or any miss in the ceramic coating properties. In fact, it was better now with the gloss being evident. First of all you need to let the forum know what is your expectation and why are you trying to use any product for that matter on a ceramic coted car.The trigger bottle isn't great. Once you get to two thirds down the bottle, it is difficult to get the last remains out and it just spits a few droplets at you. However, this is the only thing that does let it down. But the protection it provides is phenomenal. Before this I was using the Formula 1 Carnauba Wax and it did provide a warm finish to the paint, but wasn't long lasting. Also I found, that in comparison to the BSD it attracted a lot more dirt. And within two-three weeks it would require reapplying.

Believe me, i was in the same boat as yours where the ceramic coating offered the protection but the gloss was missing in my case too. Would you guys recommend any other product like Turtle wax Ceramic Spray or Seal and Shine, MEGUIAR'S Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax ,MEGUIAR'S G200416 Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax If I may ask which brand of coating was it and did the detailer specify if its a 1 year or 2 year or 4 year coating? Also note above mentioned points have been penned down after using the product for 1-1.5 months. After applying the product, the car wasn't washed for the same duration. Only a Jopasu duster was used to remove the dirt. Also if you're using it as a drying aid, the durability point is moot too, as you will definitely be washing your car more than once every three months, and BSD lasts as least as long as that. But with BSD it's different. There is a lot less dust attracted to the paint now, the Jopasu duster doesn't requires more than three passes for the roof(required 4 passes for the Formula 1), and water beading is very good. I was able to dry my complete car with just one microfiber after coming from a drive in the rains whereas, earlier it took me more than three microfibers. Perhaps you can monitor the amount of time it will take with regular maintenance for BSD to ear off.

However this can be achieved by mixing it with other products like v7 but its not available in India. So far I have applied BSD in ratios of 1:3,1:2 and lately 1:1 and I could not find any reason not to use it atop of the coating. In my constant endeavour to try different products this time I set my eyes on Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer. It also provides very good protection. The birds poop which would earlier leave a orange coloured spot on the paint (if i cleaned it after a day), was now unable to leave any spot even after sitting on the paint for three days.Purpose of using this product was purely to get the pop effect on white paint and i am satisfied with it. But the truth is, it's simply nowhere near as hydrophobic as BSD. I also realised - how often do you 'touch' the car anyway?! Only the handles, and the boot lid depending on your car.... Was primarily looking to boost the gloss with BSD, but will it come at cost of loosing some benefits of coating?
