This is the BEST book I have read in the 16 years of my life. Sure I am an archer fan , but my expectations weren't really high after the average only time will tell (with a stunning finish though) I began reading this book a few days after having read its predecessor. Although it was enjoyable in parts, i must say that i didnt feel all those 'wow' moments I experienced in 'Only Time Will Tell.' Emma, who is Giles's sister, is Harry's girlfriend and goes to meet Maisie, Harry's Mother. While the letter by Tom Bradshaw (Harry) is lying on Maisie's mantelpiece, Emma recognizes the handwriting and believes that Harry is still alive. Not allowed to open the letter, she sets out to find Harry. She works on Kansas Star, the ship in which Harry was saved, and from there, she gets to know about the people Tom Bradshaw was with in his last moments. On visiting their home, she realize that Harry himself is Tom and is now in prison.

In Branches of Darkmeyer, Vanescula states that she is powerful enough to kill Lowerniel herself, and is not doing so because she doesn't want to cause political instability within Vampyre society. In Sins of the Father, Lowerniel effortlessly subdues her and makes it very clear that he is much more powerful than her.But his ship is sunk in the Atlantic by a German U-boat, drowning almost the entire crew. An American cruise liner, the SS Kansas Star, rescues a handful of sailors, among them Harry and the third officer, an American named Tom Bradshaw. When Bradshaw dies in the night, Harry seizes on the chance to escape his tangled past and assumes his identity. BUT OH MY GOD. I started reading the book at about 4 thinking I would read some chaps during the two hour power cut. Being lazy nowadays - I had convinced myself I am losing my appetite for books. But Archer just proved that my tummy is destined for unseen obesity levels! A darkness has fallen over Morytania. The Myreque freedom fighters have achieved their first major victory over the vampyres with the death of Ranis Drakan. However, their newly found hope is unlikely to last. After many years of absence, Lord Lowerniel Drakan, the vampyre overlord of Morytania, has finally emerged from his castle. He has but one goal. To avenge his brother and eradicate the Myreque once and for all. Return to the Icyene Graveyard. Talk to Veliaf, who will tell you that Safalaan has gone for a walk north of the Icyene Graveyard, and will send you after him. He can be found just north of the graveyard, staring out over the water to the east. Talk to him; both he and you will share your regrets before you both return to the Graveyard. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me” ( Exodus 20:5).

I enjoy Beau and was immersed in the story of what happened to Naomi and her boyfriend and what real estate shenanigans were going on in a rapidly gentrifying West Seattle. However, the immense wealth Beau has allows him to throw money at problems, which really lowers the stakes in the story. I didn't see this come up quite as much when he was still with SPD and then with the WA State Attorney's special investigation unit, but as a private investigator, Beau can handle his cases really differently and it takes away some of the tension. I hope Beau's next case is set in Bellingham instead of his well-trodden Seattle turf, and forces him into some conflicts with BPD and his wife, the police chief. We could get to know a whole new cast of characters and not rely so much on Beau's past and the SPD connections he has. Ivan's dialogue in the graveyard at this point in the quest mentions that a team of archaeologists could potentially find something big if they came here. The Bible Does, Indeed, Teach That Sin Has Consequences This novel doesn't stand alone - you must read Only Time Will Tell first - and has no more than a couple of chapters of plot relevant to the bigger saga. Or perhaps 1.9 chapters, given that the single thread defining this novel is left incomplete. As a result, this short book is stuffed with exceptionally dull filler. Emma seeks the help of her Great-aunt Phyllis in New York and her son Alistair who is a lawyer. She learns of Harry's recruitment in the army.
