Changing them to being 'cousins' forced Cloverway to make edits on scenes in which they showed love for each other, and change the dialogue to hide their usual flirting with each other (and, also times, when Haruka flirted with Usagi, were also changed). This also caused Cloverway to change major plots from various episodes, such as with episode 95, in which Haruka and Michiru enter a couple of contest, but Cloverway changed it to a 'friend contest'.

DiC was the first company to own the rights to the Sailor Moon anime in North America when they won the rights to the first two seasons in 1995 after striking a deal with Bandai, which would make toys based on the series. Between its run, the anime was licensed to various countries. But eventually, licenses ran out. It was orchestrated, or at least from an assumed perspective, to drive up nostalgia factor during the 20th anniversary rerelease. Moonlight Densetsu" was released as a CD single in March 1992, and was an "explosive hit." [49] "Moonlight Densetsu" won first place in the Song category in Animage's 15th and 16th Anime Grand Prix. [50] [51] It came seventh in the 17th Grand Prix, and "Moon Revenge" from Sailor Moon R: The Movie, came eighth. [52] Rashiku Ikimasho, the second closing song for SuperS, placed eighteenth in 1996. [53] In 1997, "Sailor Star Song", the new opening theme for Sailor Stars, came eleventh, and "Moonlight Densetsu" came sixteenth. It was originally proposed that Funimation, who invested in the Dragon Ball metaseries, also from the same anime studio as Sailor Moon, Toei Animation, that by popular demand via poll, that they were to re-dub the series to its full extent. However, due to circumstances, this deal didn't materialize.

The first two episodes of the Viz Media English dub were shown at the AnimeExpo on July 5. The cast for the dub of the anime was also announced on the same day. [3] [4] Finally, on September 5, Viz Media released the first twenty-three episodes of the dub on Neon Alley and Hulu. Viz Media's series would likely be rated between PG - 12, but the final episode of the fifth series... known of a certain (but not overall revealing moment) would push it up to a 15, but we're not even up to Sailor Stars yet. :P

She once ended the Sailor Wars by sealing Chaos — the source of all malice — within her body. Unable to resist Chaos's influence, she separated her Star Seed from her body, and it took the form of Chibi Chibi. Sailor Galaxia steals the Star Seeds of Princess Kakyuu and all Usagi's companions, resulting in their deaths. This also includes Mamoru who was targeted and killed before he arrived in the United States. Chibi Chibi transforms into the Sword of Sealing and urges Usagi to kill Sailor Galaxia. However, Usagi instead uses the kindness in her own heart to free Sailor Galaxia of Chaos' corruption, effectively resurrecting all of the Sailor Soldiers, Princess Kakyuu, & Mamoru whose Star Seeds were taken. Normalcy is restored, and Mamoru and Usagi share a kiss under a full moon.
