If you just want a digital radio and aren’t interested in connecting it to the internet, an Evoke D2 or D4 is probably a better option. As with all Pure Evoke radios, you can except great sound quality. What’s more, when you turn this device on and start using it, you’re sure to be impressed by how much value it offers. The Evoke C-D6’s CD player has a slot-loading design so you just push the CD in rather than placing it on a tray. The CD player seems to be temperamental as many buyers have had issues with it stopping working after a few months of use, or being very slow to read CDs.

The Evoke D6 with Bluetooth isn’t going to revolutionise the DAB radio market, but it does continue the trend of the Evoke range being a fine option for those looking for a solid, dependable radio. Unlike on some other radios, the Evoke C-D6 changes DAB station almost instantaneously, so you don’t need to wait a few seconds for it to retune. What’s more, the real-wood casing combined with the embedded digital amplifier in this product makes for a sound that makes you want to sit up and listen. You can almost feel the music move through you with a radio as powerful as this.One particularly impressive feature of the Pure Evoke is how much power it manages to fit into such a small space. You should be able to easily fit this device into any room of your home.

As with the rest of the Evoke range, the Pure C-D6 includes both DAB and FM radio modes. With both, there's the ability to save station presets. Three one-touch preset buttons let you instantly access your favourites, while a separate menu has space for twenty. Built-in Bluetooth lets you choose your favourite music, streaming service or internet radio station and play it direct from your phone or tablet without trailing wires.

Verdict

From the moment you first lift the product out of the box, you’re swept away by the elegance of the design. The system looks pleasant enough and offers plenty of functionality, similar to many other Pure products, like the Avalon or Siesta Rise. Some buyers found their radio suddenly stopped working (though it does come with a 3-year warranty) Give your music extra bass, depth and clarity so you can finally hear what you've been missing. By the time we finished our Pure Evoke CD-6 review, it was clear to us that this radio is one that you can easily fall in love with.

Changing digital stations: You can change the radio’s digital stations using the remote or the front panel controls. For the remote, press the 🢨 or 🢩 button to browse through a list of the available stations and then press “Select” to choose a station. If you want to use the front panel control knob, turn the select dial right or left to scan through a list of the available stations. Push the button to change a station.

You can adjust the settings on the Pure Evoke C-D6 DAB radio to give your music collection extra depth, clarity, and bass. Despite these qualities, rivals offer greater clarity and insight, and they do a better job of communicating dynamic shifts. As with most Pure radios, the Evoke C-D6 is made to be highly user-friendly. Setting the radio up for the first time should be easy. However, like any piece of technology, it can be challenging to set the radio up, especially if it’s your first time interacting with Pure Radios.
