About this deal

StoryLearning® is based on the idea that rather than studying with textbooks, learning with stories is a much more natural way to improve. It allows you to build your vocabulary fast, and because you learn the language in context, you master grammar more easily.

It is a great book to learn Spanish language, it contains several stories each story divided in 3 chapters to make it easy to understand it. Also at the end of each chapter there is a summary to see if you understood the overall idea of the chapter (the main idea of this chapter of the story 💡). In addition, the chapter contains a list of few vocabulary that could help you understand what those Spanish words mean in English. Saying that I need to mention an important matter you need to have a good base of Spanish vocabularies to start with this book. In my situation I have started learning Spanish language using app called duolingo for more than a year now, it has helped me a lot in understanding most of the stories in this book. To be frank I still used translator to translate some words even though the majority of these words I learned before but still not everything you can remember until you practice it in a daily base. Short Stories in Spanish for Intermediate Learners has been written especially for students from beginner to intermediate level, designed to give a sense of achievement, and most importantly - enjoyment! Mapped to B1-approaching B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference, these eight captivating stories will both entertain you, and give you a feeling of progress when reading. There is a sense that the verb tenses are getting more varied and complex as you go along, although I understood the stories very well and it never felt like any of them were too difficult. As with the first book, there are vocabulary lists at the end of each chapter as well as comprehension questions. These are also noticeably more complex than in the previous book, as you would expect now that we have stepped up from Beginner to Intermediate, but again, the exercises are not overly taxing if you've been paying attention to the stories. By the way, if you want to learn Spanish fast and have fun while doing it, my top recommendation is Spanish Uncoveredwhich teaches you through StoryLearning®. The La criatura story made me laugh but I did think her family were mean to have pulled that kind of prank on her! And La Paella Loca definitely relied on a few heavy coincidences.

Eight stories in a variety of exciting genres, from science fiction and crime to history and thriller - making reading fun, while you learn a wide range of new vocabulary

But if you haven't learned with a story-based method before, you might be wondering, “Well okay, you're going to give me a chapter of a story every day, but what exactly do I do with it? How do I learn from that?” How would you like to win a FREE set of my bestselling Spanish story books (plus the accompanying audiobooks)? The StoryLearning Spanish podcast is a daily Spanish podcast for intermediate level learners (A2-B1). Then you are going to hear a repetition of the story so you get a chance to listen to it again without having to rewind

Everything is very simplified so the stories rely a lot on stereotypes of personalities (this is especially true of El caballero, La capsula and Tierras desconocidas). So a lot of the characters don't have very interesting personalities and the motivations are quite cliché for some things. But that's to be expected and necessary when the language itself has to be simplified.
