About this deal

No travel system capability. The Techno XT model is not designed for an infant car seat like the Techno XLR model. XLR model also has a higher weight capacity of 65 lbs. The Maclaren Techno XT is a flagship Maclaren stroller. It is easily manoeuvrable and has a high weight capacity. The Techno XT is one class lower than the highest Techno XLR. Compared to the XLR, the XT is lighter and has a slightly smaller seat. Although the stroller is not compatible with a car seat, thanks to the soft carrycot, Maclaren Techno XT is suitable to use from birth. It's a "fancy buggy". Somehow I didn't desire this stroller, I wasn't impressed by the sporty design, I prefer more elegant strollers, but a good offer came, so we tried it ;-) I had the 2015 model, bought older, after one child - I think it can handle 3-4 kids just fine. It has two organically positioned handles covered with rubber with cool-looking metal tips. The handlebars are located 42″ from the ground which is 1″ taller than most strollers.

I think the Maclaren umbrella fold pushchairs are a design classic, a real genius moment in engineering.Just look, what do you think is the better piece of engineering, the De Havilland or the Maclaren? (OK, this picture actually shows the florescent strips off well). Notice the retro-reflective hubcaps on the larger wheels of the Maclaren Techno XT stroller to make you easier to see at night. The integrated head hugger and shoulder pads on the Maclaren Techno XT make your child more comfortable and safe at any age.Carry handle. Once folded, you can use a carry handle for easy transportation and loading into the car. Since it weighs only 16 lbs, you can easily carry it in one hand. The Maclaren Techno XT is designed for ultimate convenience with durable construction and ease of use. The stroller has four wheels that can either be fixed or swivel for smooth mobility. It can hold up to 15 kg of baby weight and comes with a hood cover to protect from the sun. The design is foldable and uses an umbrella fold style, so it's easy to store and transport. The product is made with an aluminum frame, ensuring strength and stability. The stroller weighs approximately 7.2 kg and includes a rain cover for additional protection. The fold is not all that smooth anymore either. You don’t get that sort of side to side asymmetrical wear on most modern strollers anymore. A baby’s and will certainly get looser over time. But this looseness isn’t going to make it harder to fold. And that’s an addition to the fact that it’s not going to feel loose horizontally. And even when a Maclaren does fold easily, it’s simply not the most comfortable method of folding, nor the easiest stroller to carry when it’s folded. I’d much rather fold and carry a baby then we’re on the larger end of Baby Jogger City Mini than a Maclaren, especially when what I have to then carry around is as large as a golf bag, and might very well pinch my fingers. It is easy to handle, not heavy and fits anywhere - even next to the driver in the car. You can see that it is sewn from quality material - nothing is ripping anywhere, nothing hangs. And it is just very nice to look at - who wouldn't love a Maclaren, right? :) The linked foot-operated parking brakes on the Maclaren Techno XT stroller are a standard safety feature.

As I said earlier, most of the full-on problems, the sort of issues requiring the placement of parts had to do with the old wheel system, and all that has now been updated. But what Maclaren seems to fail to realize, at least in my opinion, is that the whole concept of an umbrella stroller is outdated as well. Or more likely, of course, they have thought of this and chosen to try and make it a vintage sort of thing, because that design is the company flagship, the key property, and stroller manufacturers don’t like to dump their flagships. Virtually every model from bugaboo after the chameleon is better than the chameleon itself. But they keep pumping those out too. That’s their flagship. What’s a little ironic about all this is that Owen Maclaren was an innovator. Then coming from the premise that it’s competition that has been eroding the position of Maclaren strollers, we must ask what it is about the design. The umbrella structure that is the heart of the company itself that seems to have trouble living up to the competitors. Either inherent flaws to the design? And if so, what are they? Well, having repaired several Maclaren’s over the years? I can say definitely that yes, there are flaws to the design. My second and third grandchildren are now also riding in Maclarens. The older one is at my house now for when they are visiting. Me and my children will not buy any other stroller. This is one of the tallest canopies on the market! The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 55 lbs. The seat has an updated one-hand lever recline. The recline has 4 positions including almost a flat one suitable for a newborn.

It features an all-wheel suspension. The added suspension absorbs the bumps making the ride more comfortable for your child. Keep in mind, this is not the same kind of suspension you get on a jogger, but it’s better than nothing. Most baby strollers in the market prioritize function over style. Others completely forget about its style altogether. Not with the full-featured strollers from Maclaren that we are going to discuss today. It is easy to fold, to store to travel with and it seems as if the babies also love it. The covers are durable, easy to remove for washing, as well as beautiful. We just love the footmuffs. We like to take long walks and now in winter, it is a fantastic accessory to the stroller. Of course, it’s not an all-terrain stroller, so you are not going to get a very smooth ride going over terrain, but it does the job. I’ve tested a lot of umbrella strollers and Techno XT is one lever above all of other umbrella strollers when it comes to maneuverability and terrain handling. In 1965, Owen Maclared, an aeronautical engineer, instantly transformed the baby transportation industry when he invented the first umbrella stroller. Today, 50 years later, Maclaren lightweight strollers are sold in more than 70 countries worldwide, and continue to be the standard for products that are durable, safe, stylish, and easily portable.

Your child’s safety on baby strollers is supreme. No one should cut corners and comprise it. As a parent, you always worry about it every second. You do not have to worry as much with Maclaren’s Newborn Safety System. This safety system adds covering for your infant when the seat is fully reclined. Both models have a lightweight yet rigid frame. Maclaren also added more streamlined wheels that have full-suspension on each wheel. There are single front wheels that are said to be more agile which adds to its maneuverability. These single front wheels reduce friction between the wheels and the ground for a smooth and quiet ride. Lastly, the seat cover is easily removable and washable. Most of the repairs I’ve done over the years have been related to the wheels mostly swivel or brake problems related to the rip your hair out awful to disassemble, dual wheel no ball bearing system they have or rather had going on. Dual wheels. I mean, come on. On strollers of this size. You really need eight separate wheels. Actually, after reading about oh and Maclaren it’s hard for me not to look at those dual wheels is coming directly from aero-plane design. Am I right? I’m actually going to lay off all of these wheel issues though because despite the fact that most other umbrella stroller manufacturers still use a dual wheel approach. I love this canopy! One of the best canopies on the umbrella stroller. For this year, they’ve updated the peekaboo window and now it’s located on the canopy and has a magnetic closure. In 2013, the company introduced The Maclaren Handprint ™ ? a program that is dedicated to safety and environmental sustainability in its production and advocacy, truly bringing all of the company’s core values together in a unified vision for a strong future. In addition to the traditional lightweight stroller, the company has also created a line of skin and body wellbeing products for mothers and babies, and it continues to innovate in the areas of stroller accessories and cutting-edge functions that enhance the travel experience for both children and parents.

Despite its long history in the umbrella stroller world, the Maclaren Techno XT has not kept up with modern-day improvements. We find this stroller heavy, bulky, and difficult to maneuver compared to the competition. The canopy is the high point of this stroller, but we think that you can find that, as well as better overall performance, in some of our higher-scoring options. What Other Umbrella Strollers Should You Consider? Tall and very tall parents will love adjustable handlebars (which arevery rare in umbrella strollers) that go from 42″ up to 44″ from the ground. The fold is very easy and compact. You can even fold it with one hand if you really try. The attached carrying strap makes it convenient for transporting. It weighs 15 lbs which is an average weight for a sturdy umbrella stroller. To prevent your baby from sliding out of the seat Maclaren included a head barrier and a foot mesh that you can attach at the bottom of the seat. You definitely not going to be able to go grocery shopping with this one. The basket is considered to be large for an umbrella stroller, but I would say it’s really medium.
