About this deal

We recommend this for removing isolated stains caused by metal garden furniture or pots, fertilizers that contain iron, etc. It's worth bearing in mind that sealing considerably reduces the attention that paving requires, especially if it's sawn paving. Unsealed stone absorbs stains more readily, whereas sealed stone repels them so that they lie more on the surface, making them easier to remove. Find out more in our guide to pre-sealing and sealing. Cleaning limestone

The yellowish discoloration which results from iron containing stones rusting is removed and largely prevented. Now pressure wash or hose down the paved area to remove the debris and dirt completely from the paving’s surface. It’s not necessary to use a pressure washer but you’ll likely achieve a better result when doing so. However you should always keep a distance of around 50cm from the paving and take extra care around paving joints so as not to damage them when cleaning. Don’t be tempted to go closer than the recommended 50cm and if there are stubborn stains you should consider removing them with cleaning chemicals and brushes or wools rather than a power washer. Once dried you should be looking at a lovely clean patio once more!

Anything very abrasive. Porcelain is tough and scratch resistant, but that doesn’t mean it can’t get scratched at all. Avoid going at it with anything like steel wool or a steel brush. These might also leave particles in the grout which would oxidise, causing discolouration. An alkaline formulation like Lithofin Rust-Ex should be used for limestone. It's important to follow instructions and to apply water before using it. The best way to do this is to saturate the stone, and then do it again twenty minutes later. In this way, you’ll get as much water into the stone as possible, which is what you want to ensure that the cleaner stays on the surface. If you only dilute the cleaner and put it on to dry stone, the solution gets drawn into the stone where it can oxidise iron deposits, causing rust marks to appear. A special product for natural stone and porcelain, including limestone, it’s a highly active cleaner based on chlorine compounds and special additives. It works fast and thoroughly and we particularly recommend it for natural vegetation, leaf marks, mould, and where leaves have mulched onto the surface. We've found it quite magical in the results it gives.Lithofin MN Builders Clean prevents rust discolourations, which occasionally appear when cleaning iron containing stones such as serrizzo, cresciano, calanca, sardo white, etc.
