About this deal

The top of the PING Glide 2.0 (above right) has less exaggerated weight in the high toe vs the 3.0 and the Indi's. The soles are much more similar in width as well both having 12 deg of bounce. I think this clubs will function very similarly (insert foreshadowing )... Stripped down bag drill: The round with the 5w, 5i, 7i and Indi wedges proved that you don’t need a full bag to shoot a decent round. The 50 worked well on the longer approaches while the 54 and 58 took care of greenside.

So first impressions are that these are really well built wedges that I am going to look forward to testing. Much more to come, hopefully a few very spinny shots! Till later, Willie T To earn a place in my bag, I'll be looking for an improved up/down % especially from the sand (which shouldn't be difficult at 3%...) and to improving proximity on approaches and greenside while maintaining GIR. myself included: Will you be testing the wedges in “winter” conditions? If I recall @Nunfa0, it’s going into his summer. It has been so dry here in eastern NC along with moderate temps, it’s more like later summer just with brown grass. Just seeing what the thoughts are for these. Me - planning on being out there as often as feasible, wet or dry….Flour: I prefer to use a small portion of flour for my wedges as it helps in 2 ways. Firstly it reduces the chances of the spices and herbs getting burnt. Secondly it gives an extra crisp texture to the wedges. However it is optional and you may skip it if you don’t prefer.

Great: distance consistency on full swings and partial wedges, greenside performance from rough, 1.6 shot improvement within 100 yards over previous gamers! I’m almost certain that I’m going to get some flak for this score, but hear me out first. I took these clubs to the launch monitor and used various clubs going at targets at 60 yards and 75 yards, as well as full swings to compare some numbers against my PXG wedges. On paper, everything about the Indi wedges beats the PXG wedges in this situation. Looking at the 60 yard and 75 yard target results, much smaller dispersion, much closer to target for the Indi wedges on both.

Conclusion

Feel: One of the better-feeling wedges I’ve used to date! I love the turf interaction and how smooth the ball felt coming off the face. Shots out towards the toe didn’t feel harsh and still provided spin. It is equal, if not better, than the feel of a Vokey wedge! My 48* set AW is my 115 yard club which I used for partial shots all the way down to 70/80 yards. The 52 Indi tops out around 105 which was nice to have another full swing and became my default from there down to 70-80 yards given the strong performance I felt I was seeing on course. Upon final review of my approach stats, my 48 produced 9% higher GIR (66 vs 57) from up to 10 yards further from the green with 6ft closer proximity to hole (37 vs 44) and 0.1 fewer strokes to hole out.

Discard the deep fried oil as it is not good to reuse. However if you still prefer to reuse it, skip chilli powder/ paprika from the seasoning as it discolors the oil. How do you want to test this product? In as many and varied situations as possible. I want to see how these work when there is a carry over a greenside bunker with a short side pin. How they work when the ground is soggy and the ball is partially plugged (and there are no preferred lies). When the grass is deeper and we are chopping out. Of course in the sand - fluffy to supersaturated post rainfall sand…. In my experience, feel is one area where smaller brands often come up short. Indi Golf has avoided that trap with their Stingray TT wedge. First glance of the clubs, they are what I would call minimalistic, especially compared to my PXG irons. This isn’t a bad thing, as the PXG wedges are fairly minimal in appearance as well. The first thing you notice with the Indi wedges are the grooves. It’s a unique look as most companies have gone to large grooves, whereas the Indi wedges have a lot more grooves, but they are thinner. No GIRs drill: The toughest test was playing to not have any GIR, even hitting par 3’s short. This put a wedge in play on all 18 holes. A hard test that went against scoring low but also built confidence in each club that proved that you can rely on these clubs on getting up and down when you do miss a green in regulation.More important than all of these numbers, in the same round I had these two great shots. A 14 yard chip in with the 50 degree and this one out of the sand from 25 yards to save par with the 54. Spin: Incredible spin and response from traditional golf balls and range balls! The TractionFace and 22 V-Grove design truly allows for maximum spin. Provided more spin than my Vokey SM7 wedge.
