It's important to note that there are more affordable options out there if you’re looking for something with 625-fill-power down fill that is temperature rated to -5 degrees. If you end up in my situation and none of the lower-priced coats are a good fit for you personally—and you have the money to spend on a Canada Goose coat—they are absolutely worth the money. I would not recommend buying a Canada Goose coat strictly for the brand name, though. When it comes down to it, if you have the money to invest in a parka, and you’ve tried other options and they’re not working for you, a Canada Goose coat is absolutely worth the money. Not only is it extremely warm, but I, a curvy person with disproportionate limbs, found the coats to fit well, too. Would I cut the logo off the arm so people wouldn’t know I spent money I didn’t have to buy it? I wasn’t sure. But I would figure that out later. For now, the coat was mine. I have lived in the northeastern part of the U.S. my entire life (except a five-month stint in Los Angeles where I was excessively happy due to—you guessed it—the warm weather and constant sunshine), and I have hated every single aspect of living here during the months of November through March.
