There is an Enquiry Desk on Level 2, just as you enter the main Reading Room: please do come and have a word if you are having any difficulty in using the library. The story revolves around a court case concerning a number of wills, and most of it takes place in the legal areas of London. This is a collection of ‘letters’ to a fictional student about what it’s like to study Law, and it also gives a basic explanation of the legal system.

Land Law provides the reader with a clear and concise explanation of the vast range of topics covered in the majority of land law courses. Book 2 includes the second section of all mandatory units and both the Human Rights Law and Contract Law optional units. It was first published in 2002, so it’s important to note that some of the passages are a little out of date now.

Written by Jonathan Herring, Professor of Law at the University of Oxford and Fellow in Law at Exeter College, it is a great introduction to key concepts in Criminal Law, including the key tensions and questions which surround it. Use text-to-speech to make the content more accessible to students and improve comprehension and pronunciation. This book may be your first encounter with the case of Donoghue v Stephenson, but it certainly won’t be your last: Hutchinson will regale you with the full story of poor Mrs Donoghue, a bottle of ginger beer, a dead snail, and a lawsuit that established the core principle in any negligence claim. Not only does he touch on topics about what it is like to study Law, but also offers practical advice on what it is like to study the subject at different universities. Victims’ cases are dropped without justice and innocent defendants have their lives ruined or are bankrupted paying legal fees for which they are never compensated. The first reason for studying Law at university is that doing a Law degree is great at helping you learn how to think carefully, imaginatively, and sensibly.

Lexis+ includes extensive primary and secondary legal materials from the UK, EU, USA and many other jurisdictions. Viewed by this light it becomes a coherent scheme, and not the monstrous maze the laity are apt to think it. McBride by definition, is an author, professor, and University of Cambridge Fellow, making him well-equipped to offer advice to prospective Law students. Secure students' legal competence and professional legal skills through reimagined digital learning. In this case-by-case manner, the authors also introduce you to the basic principles underlying Tort, EU, Land, Equity and Public Law. This provides access to practice notes and answers; allows comparison of different jurisdictions; and provides information on arbitrators.
