Bridget starts off as a nice girl but that quickly changes once she realizes how pretty she is and how she can use it to her advantage. I’ve been in plenty of “Gifted” and advanced classes, and they expect more out of us even in middle school. But we quickly see that Bethany’s life is not as perfect as it once was and that little bit of mystery was interesting to watch unfold. I haven’t read this book since I was in seventh grade, but reading this as a sophomore in college took me right back to that time.

She only has one friend going to the same school, but luckily it's her best friend, Bridget (Emma Rayne Lyle). Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Personal cell phones and texting are not really a part of the everyday lives of Jessica and her friends. I enjoyed the first chapter, which was a summary of the first book, because I think it will help younger readers remember what the It List is and how it as affected Jessica’s relationships with those around her.But if they continue to have encounters as they do here, if Jessica continues to be aware of Marcus (and harbour a small crush on him as she does here), it really colours their future interactions differently – and also gets rid of some of the bombshells that are dropped throughout the series. The one thing that bugged me, and it didn't even really bug me, was the small exchanges between Marcus and Jessica. If I had to do seventh grade all over again, there's nobody I'd rather have by my side than Jessica Darling. This book takes place during Jessica’s first few weeks of Grade 7, and is based on her older, uber-popular sister Bethany’s ‘It List’ of four tips to ensure popularity, including wearing something different every day, joining the CHEER SQUAD! I loved how Jessica is worried about her first day of middle school while her sister was the it girl at Pineville middle school.

Jessica's much older sister Bethany, in a rare instance of sisterly feeling, has decided to help Jessica avoid the curse of dorkdom by passing down the patented method for achieving popularity. I don’t know a girl in the world who won’t identify with Jessica and her attempts to navigate friendships – it’s that real. The only four tasks on the list are: always wear something different every day, make the CHEER TEAM! But I suspect the MAIN reason why this happens is McCafferty is trying to reach out to a new generation, and these novels would in theory be set in the mid-to-late 90s when these kids weren’t even born yet.Readers will notice that McCafferty has taken a different approach to writing Jessica’s inner thoughts in this book. Razor-sharp writing, witty dialogue, and the genuineness of Jessica’s struggles make this a sure bet for tween readers. On April 24, 2006, Little, Brown issued a statement from Viswanathan in which the author admitted to reading McCafferty's novels but stated that any similarities between them and her own work were "completely unintentional and unconscious. Jessica's the Cady and Hope is Janis/Damian, only they could never care enough to make Jessica into the evil popular girl, and Jessica would never want Burke Roy, the Aaron Samuels figure.

Jessica’s dressed in her trying-to-fit-in clothes rather than the vintage band tees she grows to love in the book. Parents need to know that Jessica Darling's It List is a movie based on the book for older kids and tweens by Megan McCafferty. When I got the opportunity to read and review her new prequel middle grade series I jumped at the chance and I am so happy that I did. In this installment of the series, Jessica struggles to balance her old friends with her new friends which may lead to disastrous results. This Book grabbed my attention Idmeatly it keepes you on your toes and you don't want to put it down a lot of things surprised me now I won't give any spoilers but this book is great and is worth giving it a 5 STAR RATING.Common Sense is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century. I also loved that the infamous Marcus Flutie, a key player in the later series, also makes a fantastic appearance.
