The remote control is user friendly too making the overall viewing experience easy and trouble free. But if I had to design and sell a remote with that many buttons then hiding a lot of them to perspective purchasers seems an excellent idea. My Humax PVR 9150T has been fantastic, but recently I have been having problems with it's recordings. Or take the hard disk out, put it in a windows computer, find special software and instructions on the internet to repair the index.
Switching off a PVR (instead of putting it in stand-by) defeats most of the point of having a PVR and (like any other Freeview receiver) it will take quite a while to reload the entire EPG when switched back on. On the Inverto, a feature she liked was that the current channel was displayed along the front, the Humax only has a few LED's along the top.
I suspect scheduling is all in non volatile ram as mentioned above, which makes fixing this pretty much a no go.
If you have HDMI, I would recommend visiting the Humax refurbished site and choosing another device, or going with previous suggestions from Tesco. You shouldn't need to use this latter facility - instead software upgrade over-air should be the norm. I was not looking forward to the end of analogue have used VHS tapes for so long and enjoying the convenience of taking them from one room or house to another. For anyone such as my parents, not used to technology and finding it difficult to learn new things, then perhaps not, unless you have someone there to set it up for you regularly. Despite arriving with a bent RF aerial input socket backplate, probably caused by a knock during transit (packaging inadequate), there were no major problems and setting up was extremely easy.Read more about the condition For parts or not working: An item that does not function as intended or is not fully operational. Scrolling left and right is fine but I didn't see any fastforward features to allow 12 hour or 1 day jumps.
Also "padding" can be selected, this causes all events to start x minutes before/finish x minutes after, the guide time.However, it is worth noting that this is a generic remote control that has been configured for the Humax PVR 9150T.
The 9150 uses a IDE CE type drive near impossible to get now and most likely you won't get a larger drive. Status is indicated by a line of LEDs and it takes a while to learn what each means, because from your sofa you can’t see the text. Recorded programs on the hard drive are all fine, but upcoming shows preprogrammed ready to record are lost. They also told me that the freezing problem is apparently due to freeview upgrades that have been happening over the recent weeks and all we need to do is download their upgrade and all will be fixed.If you get all all recordings starting like the example you described then I'm surprised and can't offer an explanation.
