Description

Many of the recipes are standard traditional dishes with vegan processed food substitutes instead of animal products, which I didn't find inspiring at all. She is a PETA ambassador and RSPCA campaigner, as well as having launched her own cruelty-free make-up range, Basic Bitch. Packed with comforting, easy-to-make and totally delicious recipes, Feed Me Vegan will show that you can be vegan and still have your cake (and mac and cheese, and lasagne, and pancakes) and eat it. Seasoned vegans and vegetarians will get more out of books like Jackie Kearney’s, or even revisiting the old Moosewood and Broccoli Forest cookbooks. Day to day I generally eat Deliciously Ella style; however, when I occasionally want to indulge with some "dirty vegan" food Lucy has some fantastic recipes to choose from.

There were a few steps including pre-cooking the macaroni, frying off two types of mushrooms with some herbs and making a béchamel sauce. they're just extremely boring and kind of bland and theres absolutely nothing new or innovative in this book at all. I'm not Vegan but since April I have been Vegetarian and embrace the idea of limiting animal-based products as best as I can, this book is excellent for ideas on how to try Vegan, what ingredients are best and what are vegan without you being aware. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I would definitely recommend this to someone who is new to veganism or struggling to make the transition. So impressed, the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the use of vegan cheese - its gross not for me, I knew this before this cook book. The focus of this book is on vegan comfort food with veganised versions of classic meals such as pancakes, pizzas, lasagne, burgers, curries and cakes. The question is – does it live up to the reviews and is it worth shelling out your hard earned cash for?

My excitement level got to a 10 when I reached step three and started frying the wild mushrooms in garlic and fresh thyme. Feed Me Vegan: For All Occasions is full of easy recipes for everyday veganism, from a quick, week night pasta to blow-out Sunday feasts. Crammed full of flavourful and satisfying vegan fare, Feed Me Vegan will have even the most dedicated carnivore asking for seconds. You would be amazed at the amount to cookery books that get it wrong, be it measurements or method or simply resulting in unappetising food. There are quite a lot of recipes in this book I will try and as with every cookbook, some that don't appeal. Recipes Include: Fry-Up, French Toast with Spiced Plums, Cauliflower Wings, Mushroom Mac and Cheese, Ultimate Cheeseburger, Pad Thai, Oreo Thickshake, Chocolate Fudge Cake, Hot Cinnamon Jam Doughnuts, Miso Aubergine and Mushroom Gyoza. The books featured on this site are aimed primarily at readers aged 13 or above and therefore you must be 13 years or over to sign up to our newsletter. The recipes in this cookbook range from healthy to junk food, which is exactly what I was looking for.

When the book arrived I made a recipe the first day with what we had in, it was really tasty and took 20 minutes to cook. If I had to pick something, I’d say that they were ever so slightly dense so it’d be nice to lighten them up a bit. I like my chilli to have a nice thick sauce but after the allotted 15 minute cooking time it was still quite watery. It was accompanied by a pickled red onion relish of sorts which was absolutely genius – it took just a few minutes to make and tasted like actual pickled onion.
