You can use either wood or plastic, as others have recommended, and it looks like there is a little gap between the window and the top of the sill that you could use to slide a thin stabilizer for the window side, so it is less likely to tip our when they get on the edge. Cats often enjoy sitting in a window to take in their surroundings, but it can be difficult for a cat to perch comfortably on a narrow window stool. What a difference it makes being able to have doors and windows open in the warm weather and knowing your cats are safe and sound. Flat Cats enable you to open your windows and, just as important, mean you can stop worrying about the cats safety. You hardly notice them on the windows at all so they don't detract from the look of the windows either. Just to say thank u sooooooo much for my fantastic Flat Cats they fitted really easily and are purfect, excuse the pun. I wasn't crazy about being able to see the velcro tabs through the sill when I first put it on, but I don't even notice it anymore and it's a much better look than the scratched off paint! I rushed outside to find her in the garden very scared and when I brought her back in and she was limping a lot so I took her to an emergency vet. Don't really mind though as I can have nice cool air circulating in my bedroom without worrying about her falling out. In the summer cat owners are faced with a dilemma - open the windows and risk a fall or keep the windows closed and suffer the resulting high temperatures. As you can imagine, the Aussie summer is pretty hot as it is so not being able to open any windows this summer has made my apartment an over-sized oven!
