About this deal

Thinking of being separated from my son by millions of light years conjures up within me an eternal sort of dread.

In the book he talks up the universe of Interstellar, the wormhole, the black holes, the fifth dimension and so much more that will blow your mind. We are treated to not only clips from the film, behind-the-scene stills and interviews, but also such deep dives into complex topics such as wormholes, time travel, black holes, Space-X, the future of our planet and even mention of Kepler 186F, which could be the next Earth despite it being 500 light years away. From drones to explosions overhead believe it or not this one has a immense sense of height to it all. What's so great is that Nolan takes some pretty scientific elements, and creates circumstances which are thrilling and understandable even to the layperson. Cooper, along with Brand's daughter (Anne Hathaway), and a small team set out to find out what's on the other side of the wormhole. This three disc set contains two of the discs, each containing a movie (the Ultra HD on one and the Blu-ray on the other). From director Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy) comes the story of a team of pioneers undertaking the most important mission in human history. Did you find the ending way too convenient like it was in Mud for me (let it be known that I do like Mud)? Admittedly, there are a couple spots of very mild aliasing along the sharp edges of buildings, the computer monitors and spacecraft exteriors, but it's negligible enough to be missed except by the most observant of videophiles.

Epic in scope and narrative this is a multi-genre experience that at least for me, required more than one viewing to thoroughly digest. Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), seems transfixed on coining a new phrase the future of the human race will use for eternity.
