About this deal

If you’re looking for a fairly fluffy romance where The Devil Wears Prada meets Emily in Paris but in Rome, don’t hesitate to give this one a try! Violet does everything she can to avoid crossing paths with him, but eventually, they bump into each other. Overall, Ciao for Now was a cute and lighthearted read, but I would’ve loved to see it given a bit more emotional depth with the incredible backstories and journeys of both main characters. Today I’m back to share my thoughts on what I think are going to be two very popular beach reads this summer. Featuring two emotionally mature, career-minded protagonists and lush Roman locales, Bromley's breezy summer romance is perfect for fans of Elena Armas and Elissa Sussman.

We are a group of dedicated readers who have joined forces to bring you the best reviews of current and classic novels. At 20 she left fashion school to follow a man who then left her (he is selfish, but as time goes on in the book it becomes clear that both of them know that though they like each other, maybe even love each other as friends, they are not a match but they have been together so long they are terrified to let go of one another.

When Violet lands a fashion internship in Rome, she must step up to complete against her two (younger) classmates to win the ultimate prize of a job at a New York label.

With her chance to win the competition slipping out of her grasp, Violet has to decide whether to say ciao to Matteo—or ciao to her dreams. I seriously had so much second-hand embarrassment for Violet, who stumbles and ultimately destroys Matt’s laptop in a cafe. Violet lands a fashion internship in Rome, Italy with two of her classmates and we get to experience Italy alongside them. Much of the book is set in Rome which I loved, but I also really enjoyed that it ended in New York with Violet realizing precisely what she needs to do.If you like enemies to lovers and forced proximity tropes this is it, I don't want to spoil it so I'll just add the the way they finally come together is very well thought. Rome offers Violet the opportunity to finally let go of her past, discover her passion, find genuine friendship, and embrace the love she deserves, and readers will root for her on every step of this empowering journey. Turns out he’s Matteo, the grumpy son of the professor who is hosting the students from New York so they’re staying in the same place. And with its vibrant beachy setting and nostalgic summer vibes, it’s the perfect book to toss in your beach bag this summer! With her thirties rapidly approaching and a mountain of student debt looming over her, Violet Luciano’s dream of finishing design school and working in fashion has cost her everything.
