It’s 75 volumes in total and if you get the 3-in-1 versions (like my library did), it’s around 25 books.

Having read through the manga twice before (though the last time I touched it was at least seven years ago), it's really nice to see some of the later plot points and important relationships being built from the ground up. It's a huge series, so I don't know how long it'll take me to finish, but I definitely enjoyed these first three.

I'll just say that Ichigo can see ghosts, and one day comes across a soul reaper - who accidentally gives her powers away and is stuck in a temporary human body.

Expect more of fan favourite villain Sōsuke Aizen too, who already made a brief appearance earlier in the series. Anyways, maybe because i'm older now i liked this first volume, but there is way better manga out there. I'm definitely interested in seeing the show now though, and am certainly going to read the rest of the manga volumes (if I can find/afford them all! When his family is attacked by a Hollow—a malevolent lost soul—Ichigo becomes a Soul Reaper, dedicating his life to protecting the innocent and helping the tortured spirits themselves find peace.I love the combo of wacky humor interspersed with truly awesome ginormous sword-wielding fight scenes. And Soul Reapers who would normally wouldn’t have anything to do with each other now fight side by side as Kenpachi and Mayuri take on a truly monstrous Quincy. Since I’m so familiar with this series because of how nostalgic and important it is to me, I’m not sure what to say except that I enjoyed this.
