About this deal
The second Ffion and Leo crime novel, with the action taking place during filming of a very plausible reality tv show.
Stranded in the Welsh mountains, seven reality show contestants have no idea what they’ve signed up for. It does go on slightly where it gets frustrating at points but comparing this to the main plot provided balance.I adore the vivid, realistic characters, the peculiar, eccentric, complex family dynamics of Ffion (I adored her Mam Ellen Morgan and wished we could see more of her in this book), her unresolved feelings with her ex, and her fiery new love relationship with DS Leo Brady, which might be sabotaged by her own insecurities. Tightly plotted and meticulously paced, packed with suspects, twists and turns , A Game of Lies is Clare Mackintosh at her best . The author's ability to create a sense of anticipation and mystery is truly commendable, leaving you eager to unravel the secrets hidden within each chapter.
I also wrote the emotional rollercoaster, After the End: a family drama about an impossible choice that threatens to tear a couple apart.Clare is patron of the Silver Star Society, a charity based at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford, which supports parents experiencing high-risk or difficult pregnancies. Welke deelnemers zullen de anderen proberen te ontmaskeren terwijl ze geconfronteerd worden met hun grootste angsten? It was told from sev points of view which was very well done and there was no confusion as this can sometimes arise, and I did find some of it amusing eg with Fiona and her dog,Dave, However I found the Welsh phrase and words annoying and found the campsite hard to visualise. Kind of made me question how she can get away with what she does in the policing world which I know in the professional industry you can get straight up fired.
If another player can guess the truth, they won't only be eliminated but they will be exposed live on air.The plot of A Game of Lies is a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns, with unexpected revelations that keep you on the edge of your seat. Soon, a murder in the camp turns the cameras off, and Ffion realizes that this is a very difficult case to solve.
