But as time goes on the the clock counts down to his Last Meal, Butter realizes that maybe his "friends" aren't real friends at all, and that he might just be in over his head. In a collection of excellent recipes and essays she makes the case for more buttery delight in our lives. It almost felt like the author was uncomfortable with the scene, like she just wanted to get it over with.

i picked up this book because i thought it would be a think piece on the internet being detrimental to mental health but instead was berated with gratuitous imagery of the author shoving in your face how gross and depressed and mean fat people are. In fact, I'd picked this book up after a recent bad experience in which my longtime favorite brand of butter failed me by suddenly tasting terrible.We all create a variety of defense mechanisms to help cope with the pain of who we are, or who we perceive ourselves to be. This is an area where Lange excels in her depiction of Butter, helping the reader to understand the deep emotional issues that come into play. Erin Jade Lange tackles these topics in a way that is on one hand annoying, on the other hand, thought-provoking.
