Apart from a two-parter that opens this set with a minor, tragic villain whose irradiated poison sets Swamp Thing back to zero, 14 of the 16 issues here form an interlinked epic known as "American Gothic," the thrust of which might be said to be elevating Swamp Thing from a horror-comic new icon right past the level of superhero and instead to the realm of god.

There was so much that happened in this trade but I don’t want this review to be too long so I’ll try and keep it brief. This is just an all round great book, and a big part of the revolutionizing of the graphic novel medium. This and the fact these were released as issues and not a complete graphic novel, means a lot of unnecessary recaps and descriptions of things that are already known or shown in the artwork.The mossy look and feel of the cover is just like the first one, and still great and in the end a couple cool extra's make this yet another great edition with some minor faults, but still a great piece of work.
