About this deal

Compre lo mismo libro in italiano, y describí que las historias eran igual :) esto autor usa las mismas historias in todas las idiomas, por el es muy económico:) lo leeré una otra ves para entender mejor. I liked the layout where key vocabulary was defined for you in each chapter and mini quizzes let me know how well I did (or didn't) understand the story.

Also at the end of each chapter there is a summary to see if you understood the overall idea of the chapter (the main idea of this chapter of the story 💡).For example in the first story, a kid and his sister who have arrived in Barcelona that day decide to eat lunch in separate restaurants.

I've studied Spanish off and on for years and although I can speak fairly well, my difficulty is comprehension when someone speaks quickly. Our 30-Day Mastery series helps you master the trickiest, thorniest aspects of French in just 30 days, using our innovative, story-based immersion method. Is that greeting appropriate only for the younger sister of a friend, like in this story, or could I use the same phrase to greet a man I see regularly at a local business? You'll enjoy reading in Spanish, grow your vocabulary in a natural way, and improve your comprehension at the same time. The narrator in these stories speaks at a quick enough pace that it doesn't seem unnatural, but clearly and slowly enough for me to understand 95% of what is being said.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying reference material will be available in your Library section along with the audio on our desktop site. But once you have some basic words under your belt you may be able to start reading this book, which says it's A2-B1 on the CERF scale.

At the beginning of the book there's a strong emphasis on how reading and finishing each story is more important than understanding every word and to not stop to look up words, I found this really helpful and encouraging because I definitely am the kind of person who would have made the mistake of looking up what I didn't understand and getting frustrated and I'm really pleased that this method of powering through helps and that I understood a lot more than I expected to. I live in Barcelona - in one story a character ends up "stranded" in Badalona at 5pm and has to spend the night in a hotel.Bored of children's books, on the one hand, and unable to make meaningful progress on Spanish translations of familiar English works, on the other, I had almost given up in frustration. Stephen Krashen, Emeritus Professor, University of Southern CaliforniaOlly's advice on language learning is the real deal, and I recommend you pay attention to what he has to say! Eight stories in a variety of exciting genres, from science fiction and crime to history and thriller - making the process fun while you learn a wide range of new vocabulary.
