About this deal

Growing up on the family farm in Ballyfin, Ireland, Noel Fitzpatrick spent his childhood tending to the cattle and sheep with his beloved sheepdog Pirate, who comforted him after he was bullied by the kids at school.

It is animals like these who have taught Noel the valuable lessons of Love, Hope and Faith - lessons that have sustained him in his life beyond being the Supervet. When Chris asked what comes next for the Supervet, Noel replied: “What’s next, is let’s try and change the world, and I’m not joking. During the live show, Noel will explore how caring for animals really can help us all and how modern medicine can have an incredible impact on our lives. Our world has never needed her wisdom more than it does now, and it is my humble honour to share her unconditional love with you too.As is his visionary work in putting injured companion animals — dogs, cats etc — back together like reverse Humpty Dumptys, using the kind of tech you’d associate with NASA. The book is signed on a tipped in page by Noel Fitzpatrick who has simply signed Noel with an x as a kiss.

As he grew up and became a lot more beardy these inspirations held strong and so he moved to London to study BA Illustration and Animation at Kingston University. Noel shares the moving and often funny stories of the animals he’s treated and the unique ‘animal people’ he has met along the way. Discover amazing stories of the Supervet's most incredible animals, from bionic cats and dogs to hero hedgehogs and courageous chameleons!

He explains how in the past, human and animal bodies were dissected side by side, with no distinction made between human and veterinary medicine.

For more great interviews listen to The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky , weekdays from 6:30am on Virgin Radio, or catch up on-demand here .The veterinary surgeon went on: “I tell it all, and the other thing was, I wanted to be 100 percent honest about where I think my profession is and what I’ve dedicated my life to, and if I was going to be totally honest about everything, I had to be honest about everything. Noel also said he was “letting go of all that stuff that I was holding inside for so long, and hoping that by letting it out it would help someone else. He believes that animals bring out the best in us and throughout this incredible book we meet the wonderful animals he has tried to help, the families who love them and the personal challenges he has faced along the way. Going far beyond the boundaries of his successful television show, The Supervet, Noel explores how caring for animals really can help heal us all and how we are at the crossroads of an epic revolution in modern medicine, filled with hope, if we can get out of our own way. Brand new and unread first UK edition hardback book with an unclipped dustwrapper published in 2020 by Trapeze in near fine condition with a thin crease to the right hand side of the inner front flap on the wrapper which is more evident on the reverse of the flap which I have tried to show in the last two photographs.

Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, originally from Laois, Ireland, is a world leading orthopaedic-neuro veterinary surgeon recognised and respected globally as a true thought leader in his field of expertise.

Picking up from where How Animals Saved My Life left off, Noels shares some moving, heart-warming, tear-jerking and often eye-brow-raising stories of the animals he has treated in his career. At times, the presentation of words didn’t quite work for me but it is a sincere and gentle tribute to the memory of a best friend and confidante. If I fail, it's life or death, but still you get up, because there is immense joy in every day that she brings to us, and now she gets to share her light with us.
