Then the track turns into the Blautulón track, which leads along the edge of the picturesque lake Blautulón and then connects to the official Langisjór F-road F235. There are some parts with sand and rough, unmaintained terrain, plus it’s an F-road, so definitely at least a small 4wd car. That’s the reason why the trail was quite wet in the beginning and after the elevation, there was quite a bit of snow still on the road. There’s also one pretty fast-flowing medium-to-big-sized river in the second half, closer to Hungurfit hut.

Fjallabaksleið syðri is pretty long and can be divided into Western and Eastern parts (intersected by F261, Emstruleið, in the middle).
