I liked the ending of this book, even though it is quite predictable, I think it rounds up the story pretty nicely. trigger warnings: loss of a parent (in the past), snakes, spiders and other scary animals, murder, kidnapping.

This story about growing up, fitting in and listening closely to our furry friends will capture the hearts of all animal-lovers. If you have a child that struggled with worries or anxieties, I can’t recommend Matt Haig’s The Truth Pixie enough. This highly edible story of a girl who wants to save the planet, with beautiful pictures by Emily Gravett, is most timely and will go down well with fans of Greta Thunberg .

It talks to children about the importance of kindness in a cruel world, about how social media and the internet is great until it's not, about how your true friends are almost always the unexpected ones. There was an intense plot that held my attention the whole way through and I know that, if I read this to my sisters, they would be captivated by every last word. Evie can talk to animals, or rather she can hear their thoughts and then talk to them in her mind as well, which at least reduces the awkwardness factor a bit. i loved this so much and i loved how he subtly discussed climate change and environmentalism which is super important for kids to be aware of!Ich fand das Buch sehr schön und es hat mich berührt weil Evie eine so starke und mutige junge Frau ist! The third star is given because it was quite exciting at the end and there are some good ideas in the book.
