In 2018, she co-founded the non-profit collective Beauty Banks and in 2022 she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Cardiff University for services to journalism and charity. One of the best things about reading Nora Ephron is the life advice she arms you with: a go-to salad dressing, the pros and cons of red coats . Most of it was about things I didn’t need to know about due to me being old and past the need for a mortgage, abortion, or debt advice for example .

The Friends and Relationships chapter was interesting because if you follow Sali you might know bits of her personal life so I'm sure some of the advice is based on personal experience. I can relate fully to all this delicious wisdom apart from having wet hair (I think its sexy at any time or place! I've enjoyed Sali Hughes beauty books and articles previously, so when I saw this I was intrigued to see her take on certain subjects.While not absolutely everything applies (as is rarely the case to everyone) I found it fascinating and there are loads of tips to pass on. Although it sometimes felt a bit jumbled, the advice is split in to helpful categories and the index helps too. Ultimately, it's a review of two halves: Hughes is absolutely superb on advice pertaining to beauty, skincare and make-up (and I really appreciated her attitude to wellness quackery). A former magazine editor, she has written for many publications including Grazia, the Observer, Elle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Glamour. Fashion is a subjective section, I think if you like Sali's style posts on IG you may enjoy this chapter.
