About this deal

The home of gin and many liqueurs, England is increasingly producing craft vodka, rum and non-alcoholic spirits. Rhubarb and apple crumble aromas on the nose leading to sweet notes of rhubarb, fresh apple and traditional juniper on the palate. I wasn’t sure at first, thinking that “crumble” flavours wouldn’t work in a gin, but I stand well and truly corrected! Nose Piney and subtly peppery juniper, paired with wafts of freshly baked ginger snaps and apple turnover. The Three Wrens’ ‘pudding imposter’ also won the prestigious ‘Golden Fork’ Award from the Guild of Fine Food in 2021, which is awarded to the world’s top 12 food and drink producers, out of 14,000 entries from 180 countries around the globe.

The spirit is then distilled with sweet orange peel, apples, toasted oats, Juniper, Angelica, Coriander, Cinnamon and nutmeg. He says, “I originally started experimenting by distilling the flavours, apples and oats, separately and realised that we could use them paired with a classic juniper base to create something unique. Blackberry and Apple Crumble Gin Liqueur is a sweet and smooth experience bringing together the classic British desert and the quintessential alcohol beverage to create a drink like no other.

Instead, the Three Wrens team worked for six months to identify the perfect botanical blend to give them the taste of apple crumble in a hand-crafted gin. Alongside juniper, this warming tipple boasts toasted oats, Cheshire apples, cinnamon and Demerara sugar among its botanical list. Serving Suggestion: 50ml Apple Crumble Gin, 200ml Elderflower tonic, plenty of ice and a slice of fresh apple. Be warned though this is so easy to drink we did not realise just how quickly we had finished off the bottle! Nick has harboured a long standing ambition to create his own brand of gin for most of his working life and finally took the plunge to open the Three Wrens distillery in August 2019.
