Indeed, if someone has said Jenkins was a jobbing actress, no eyebrows would have been raised, such is the quality of her performance. Having said that, a word of caution to parents of young children: this may be a Disney animation, but it is still a PG movie much closer in spirit to "Pirates of the Caribbean" than to "Bambi". The Christmas “special” has been an odd affair over the years (yup, that phrase can now legitimately be used as this is the sixth of its kind) and A Christmas Carol was purty much that. Carrey not only takes on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, but all of the three ghosts who come to haunt him as well. But in the end it is up to old Scrooge himself to realise the emptiness of his existence and open up his heart before it is too late. You don't have to fish out the sub-text from a vapid performance, glazed over for the sensibilities of children. Being a big Tom baker fan, you have to admit that time travel was hardly ever utilised in 90% of his tenure. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse.

There is a darker tone to this than I have seen in this story before, so it could be pushed to a 15-cert, which might make it look less of a prospect as a family movie, even though youngsters may want to.
