The discs are easy to pull out (which is always a major criteria I’m expecting from a dvd) and it’s an absolute pleasure to (re)discover the entire series in its best quality on blu-ray (even if you can’t expect a miracle, though…that’s an 80’s tv series after all which means that the picture as well as the sound are from that time, but they’ve been enhanced).

Everything is housed in a beautiful oversized box with foam inserts to keep those digipaks and swag itels nice and safe. (an uncredited William Daniels) and goes on a variety of missions helping hapless locals along the way.

In North America, Mill Creek Entertainment released the complete series on Blu-ray in Region 1 on October 4, 2016. Shift into high gear as all four seasons and 84 action-packed episodes of Knight Rider come together for the first time in one amazing collection! Everything appears natural and organic to its source with only mild speckling and lines running through the frame. Take note that this disc initially appears to be locked out of every Region as it won’t load normally, but if you press the menu button on your remote, the main menu will appear and you can access the disc’s contents. That not withstanding, the series itself has some amusing moments, and Val Kilmer replacing Bill Daniels as KITT isn't as bad as many would expect either. Neither of these films are very interesting or entertaining, but since they’re a part of the franchise, their inclusion is essential. There wasn’t a main throughline to follow, just Hassel-the-hoff bringing the charm and swagger with William Daniels delivering his dry sardonic wit that felt right at home with his tenure as John Adams in 1776.

The heart-pounding second season of Knight Rider packs in even more thrills, more high-speed chases, and more full-throttle excitement with dynamic duo Michael Knight and K. Speaking of the Hoff, his cameo makes a welcome addition to the pilot and is strangely subdued and serious which you wouldn't expect. CGI sequences like the various vehicles driving up their airplane headquarters loading ramp are a bit iffy, but otherwise, it’s a decent-looking venture. The inclusion of the two TV films is a nice addition and for the very curious there’s the whole run of the Team Knight Rider sequel series.It’s the presentation and plot that changes enough to keep Knight Rider unique, watchable, and most importantly - entertaining.
