About this deal

I Let You Go made it to my top 5 thrillers that keep you guessing which you can check out here if you’re interested: https://readbyjess. She starts to drive them both home and he becomes aggressive and insists they swap seats, even though he is drunk.

Jenna continues to develop her life in Wales with Patrick and Bethan, keeping herself to herself and learning to come to terms with what has happened back in Bristol. Until now he had simply taken the pragmatic approach of not leaning on the left side, but while he was at lunch someone had scrawled ‘defective’ in black marker pen across the back of it.It turns out following an art exhibition of Jenna's art Ian, once again, becomes jealous of who Jenna is talking too. When Janet finds herself involved in a train crash, she recognizes her chance to do what she couldn’t all those years ago.

As well as putting the spotlight on the bond between two sisters who have shared so much, Before I Let You Go also includes an interesting by line on religious cults and the influence of the girl’s stepfather in this area of the novel. I absolutely loved Charlotte’s debut novel If I Can’t Have you, so I was excited to read this new story If I Let You Go.Shift have got the scene contained and the skipper’s taking a statement from the child’s mother as we speak. I was on the point of giving up when a twist was revealed which turned the novel into a page Turner. The bitter-cold weather of the coast coupled with Jenna’s melancholic perspective, set a somber tone that makes her brokenness palpable.

Weather like this makes everyone hurry; scurrying past on slippery pavements with chins buried into collars. Not only does Mackintosh lace every word with feeling, but suspense mounts as the story unravels in multiple perspectives, building up to a twist so unexpected that the entirety of what you’ve read flips and morphs into something new, exciting and scary. On my bedside cabinet is the brass alarm clock Eve gave me when I went to university—“Because you’ll never get to lectures, otherwise”— and I’m shocked to see it’s ten thirty already.I and other readers who have done this need not worry, as Clare Mackintosh’s two releases are completely different tales. Jenna has an innocent conversation with the receptionist, Ian sees this as Jenna flirting and a reason to shout at her, belittle her and ultimately hit her. They wiped their feet and walked up the narrow hallway, pushing past an over-loaded coat rack, beneath which sat a pair of child’s red wellies, neatly placed beside an adult pair.
