About this deal

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The slipcase has FHC3CDL / FHC3 CDL printed on the spine/back but the jewel case spines are printed as FHC3CD as per the standard release.

As EDM has matured and settled in to what it is today the early stuff really shows just how freestyle and loose everything was back then. or so years has taken its toll though and some of the tracks which were perhaps once sophisticated and cutting edge are sounding a bit camp and cheesy now, but that’s not to take anything away from it, it’s not intended to compete with today’s stuff, just be warned if you do pick up a copy. by Gat Decor; it's almost (but not quite) identical to the commercially available "Do You Want It Right Now Mix" of Passion. A mate first owned this and as four of us cruised to the arches glasgow in his 205gti back in the day, these house tunes would get us raring to go. The Phoenix’ just because it has this big room filling sound, then opens up into a beach party all of its own, it’s like dark chocolate with a strawberry fondant centre.Track 1-5 is given as "Degrees of Passion (Bootleg Mix)" with a footnote crediting it as "Do You Want It Right Now (Biti-pella Mix)" by Degrees of Motion plus "Passio" [sic] by Gat Decor; it's almost (but not quite) identical to the commercially available "Do You Want It Right Now Mix" of Passion. These clubs, fueled by their distinctive sound and Ecstasy, began to have an influence on the British scene.

One of the early anthemic tunes, "Promised Land" by Joe Smooth, was covered and charted within a week by the Style Council. Again I’m tempted to say ‘they don’t make ’em like that anymore’ but I can say that about most of the stuff on my blog, this set is a collection of the finest music of this type at that time I doubt you’d find a better example all in one place. Many underground venues and DJ nights also took place across the UK, such as the private parties hosted by an early Miss Moneypenny's contingent in Birmingham and many London venues. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Founded in 1982 by Factory Records, The Haçienda in Manchester became an extension of the "Northern Soul" genre and was one of the early, key English dance music clubs. Daphne and Judy Cheeks still have it though, text book 90’s sound and really that’s what Electronica Restoration is all about!

Europeans embraced house, and began booking legendary American house DJs to play at the big clubs, such as Ministry of Sound, whose resident, DJ Harvey brought in Larry Levan. The limited edition version originally came with a and spiky black PVC armband with the Fantazia Logo in the middle. Until 1986 the club was financially troubled; the crowds only started to grow when the resident DJs (Pickering, Park and Da Silva) started to play house. Graham Park was bang on form on this one, Luvdup spinning some corkers and working those decks to the max. I must have been about 13-14 years old when it came out, this is what inspired me to learn how to mix. My opening statement could easily be misinterpreted but I mean it in the positive sense so I will explain.

is given as "Degrees of Passion (Bootleg Mix)" with a footnote crediting it as "Do You Want It Right Now (Biti-pella Mix)" by Degrees of Motion plus "Passio" [sic! The mixing isn't brilliant by a long way, many of the tracks have slipped away in time but what jeremy does is take it off in many directions delivering something quite special.

Jeremy is good for ,guts to do something different to most of the mix CDs around at that time by sticking his neck out with his experimental mixing style even if sometimes it didn't work out too well. As I said this is a positive thing as it gives you in one disc a nostalgic trip through clubland in the mid 90’s I would say better than any of those cheesy retrospective cash cow TV ad compilations ever could, mainly because this mix is authentic and actually of the time, rather than looking back at it. As mentioned before Allister Whitehead's mix is excellent but Jeremy Healy's mix is more than just your average club set. years later I rediscovered the cd's and they sound as sweet as ever, if you have any sound experience of early 90's clubbing, before clubland, these tunes will bring the memories flooding back.
