Anything that might need light gets it, usually at its fullest to enhance the boldness of this comic art. The multiverse has a new canon event: summer blockbuster Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 5th. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that's the first of its kind. The commentary track isn’t available on the Vudu or Movies Anywhere versions, but it is on the 4K disc itself rather than just the Blu-ray copy, which more studios should do.

The 2-disc 4K Blu-ray release of Across the Spider-Verse includes a number of special features on the standard Blu-ray disc. Interestingly, Lord and Miller were hired to make The Flash back in 2015 before Andy Muschietti took over the project. Paramount is working on a new 4K UHD release of Gary Fleder’s Kiss the Girls (1997) for release on 9/12. Music thumps in the low-end, balanced to the rest of the action, which erupts with every explosion or heavy punch/kick/strike.The reproduction, modification, distribution, or republication of the content without permission is strictly prohibited. A deleted scene that originally featured Miles meeting Miguel much earlier gives some of the supporting spiders more lines, but was best omitted. The digital copy as screened on Movies Anywhere looked dulled down, while the 4K is vibrant, with every line detail and subtle faux wireframe marker visible. I can't speak for the quality of the dvds yet, but I have no reason to believe there will be any issues based on excellent service to this point.

Across the Worlds: Designing New Dimensions (8 minutes): Different universes means coming up with a variety of animation styles, color choices, and so forth, which is one area where animated movies can really shine.
