Additionally, she has appeared on ITV's This Morning, The Crime Thriller Club, The Wright Stuff for Channel 5, ITV's popular daytime show Loose Women, The One Show and two episodes of Pointless Celebrities for BBC One, and a 2004 edition of The Culture Show. As for the story itself, ludicrous with a back story about Kate and her hubby Patrick that added nothing to the actual story, add to that the most incompetent detective leading the investigation, who should have been sacked on the spot.

Loyalty by Martina Cole | Waterstones

Martina Cole certainly knows how to hit the spot with her novels each one you read you think can not get any better but somehow the next book is better, I just do not know how she does it fantastic book brilliantly written can't wait u t for the next one,,well if you have never read a Martina Cole novel then believe you me you are really genuinely missing out, most definitely recommend this book. In addition,Two Women and The Graft have been adapted for the stage; both were highly acclaimed when performed at the Theatre Royal Stratford East, which also staged Dangerous Lady in 2012, celebrating twenty years since Martina's debut novel was published. Prior to her literary success, Cole had a variety of low-paid jobs, including working as a cleaner, a wine waitress, an agency nurse and a supermarket shelf-stacker.I'm gutted to not enjoy it as much because I love Martina, but something just didn't work for me here. Excels at school but instead of academics, Aiden is taken under the wing of his mother's boyfriend Tony and is introduced to Eric Palmer a legend in East and South London and a reputation not to mess with. Kate's attitude towards her friend and colleague was pretty awful considering her knowledge of Pats nefarious and criminality, I felt she was in no position to take the moral high ground. However, his wife Jackie does not want him to do anything wrong that would land him in prison again and just wishes that he comes back home. I’m not entirely sure Kate’s role was even needed (and when this book was first announced many months ago I’m not even sure the blurb matched what the final book turned out to be, but I might be wrong).

All Reeva's children work for “the firm” - it is impossible, under Aiden's rule, for any of them to work honestly. This is the 30th book, but considering Alex has survived "Kill Alex Cross" before, chances are he survives this one. Ultimately you believe the story is about that fierce loyalty of family but sometimes pride and jealously can be the strongest emotion.

Loyalty: WHSmith Exclusive Sprayed Edge Martina Cole | WHSmith

NO MERCY is a heart-stopping rollercoaster ride of a read that proves there really is only one Martina Cole. There’s something about the raw, grittiness of the worlds she creates that pulls you in and pops you right in the middle of it. In a way it is like historical royal families where they marry so that they can rule a piece of Spain or France. Finally, the only other character who is specified to be black, is a young girl the protagonist finds in bed with one of the brothers. Drugs, prostitution and murder are all things Aiden finds himself caught up in but it pays the bills and keeps his family safe. And also some of her novels take place within the community of the Irishmen situated in and around the city of London. Cole's knowledge and understanding of police behaviour when conducting enquiries and procedures also seems woefully inadequate. Her mother was a psychiatric nurse from Glasnevin, County Dublin and her father was a merchant seaman from Cork City.

The story felt stale and wasn't anything new - I am sure we have all read/watched this story before. And the ending also contributed to 4 stars because I felt a huge buildup to this ending, and it was over in 1 page . If you enjoy Cole's writing I think you will enjoy this and for hardcore fans you will enjoy catching up with Kate and Patrick! What I didn’t like were how the power slowly starts to corrupt him and with that comes unsavoury behaviour towards both his girlfriend and his family. Although I can appreciate the true nature of the plot and darker side of gang life I didn’t like the writing style. Overall the book was okay, save the labourious repeation of describing the characters over and over again.
