There's no shortage of activities both on the ground and in the air at the Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off. What's more, a super moon surprised those who had got up early to enjoy the AM mass ascents, which begin at around 6am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning, making for some stunning photo opportunities. Matt Rate, chief pilot for Vista Balloon Flights, who navigated one of the balloons for the event, said: "It was amazing. As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, we rely heavily on corporate partnerships to ensure the continued vitality and growth of the event. Thursday and Saturday will also feature night glow displays during which a collection of up to 25 balloons tether and light up in time to a soundtrack provided by a team from BBC Radio Bristol.

The harbourside provides beautiful views of Bristol even without mass ascents, with balloons making them even more special.Though the festival is newer than others at less than 10 years old, the 2021 iteration of this spectacle saw thousands of attendees and nearly 30 hot air balloons in mid-November. As well as the mass ascents, which always take place at either 6am or 6pm, there is other kinds of entertainment on all day including live music, fairground rides and even sky dives into the main arena. This festival boasts a number of unique accomplishments, such as setting the world record for longest-running balloon festival in 2013 at 66 days. Celebrate Labor Day weekend in Colorado, where you can see approximately 70 balloons against the panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains.

There’s a bandstand featuring live music every day, and the Brizzle Kicks area for children’s entertainment – with daily foam parties. An immense 120,000 spectators now attend this festival – set the weekend after Labor Day – and participate in a variety of activities intended for all ages to enjoy. This will be the second time the Fiesta has gone ahead in its traditional form since the Coronavirus pandemic and the first since Covid to boast shuttle buses taking people to and from Bristol city centre.BristolLive reporter Ellie Kendall says there was a lot of interest around the event and one tourist was even shaking with excitement as the balloons went up. Sitting just off Park Street, the site offers panoramic views of Bristol looking across the city centre and over to Ashton Court.

It attracted around 300 hot air balloon enthusiasts from around the country as well as abroad including New Zealand.

This year, spectators can look forward to gourmet food trucks, tethered rides, night glows, music performances, family-friendly activities and more. Fiesta-fans can expect to watch in awe as up to 100 balloons take to the skies and witness breathtaking scenes as the balloons float across Bristol’s landscape, before heading back to prepare for the first Nightglow of 2023.

The balloon took its maiden trip at the Fiesta Community Launch and is piloted by our nightglow director Ian Martin, who communicates with all the balloons during the glow. Along with competitive balloon races, the event also features antique car and antique tractors and engine shows. There are a plethora of Reno hotels and casino resorts for attendees to spend the night, such as Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa. We can expect similar from Sunday, with sunshine and showers in the morning and early afternoon, before things dry up in the evening.We do not offer any balloon flights during the Festival; however, we do offer free tethered rides for all ages each morning at no additional cost (weather and pilot permitting).
