Adler's writing style is great and the topics/issues she covers in this book are really interesting. One you get into the habit of checkin in with yourself and noticing when you are heading into full-blown "hanger", you can then take evasive action (see below). I would have preferred more straightforward language and fewer acronyms, exclamation points, and wordplay attempts.

Her mindfulness-based behavioral techniques are clear, concise, entertaining to follow, and offer an amazingly practical approach that will help many. By learning to stay on top of your hunger cues and cultivating a better understanding of your appetite, you'll become happier and healthier for life. Plus it all focuses around this idea of not letting yourself get to the point of starvation and hunger– that our moods are based off of what we eat. She is the author of eight mindful eating books including: EatQ, 5 0 Ways to Soothe Yourself Without Food, Eating Mindfully, Eat, Drink, and Be Mindful, and Mindful.PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

In some ways this is good, because it gives concrete examples, but it also gets a little repetitive and just long. You can't get rid of, or avoid, a hanger incident, nor can you ever hope to sort through them, but you can learn to control your reactions. Of course, she has the typical healthy recommendations and lists a lot of great benefits to healthy foods but mainly emphasizes that mindfulness is key. If you enjoyed this post, it would make my day if you shared it with anyone you think might find it interesting! I also felt that the book suggested some tips that aren't necessarily healthy (such as drinking fruit juice).
