Description

This year, the size of the P50 Pro’s battery has increased from 4,200mAh to 4,360mAh, although as you can see from the graph below, in testing it’s actually taken a significant battery life hit. Typical value. The Battery Rated Capacity is 4,260 mAh. Based on results from HUAWEI Lab tests. Actual battery life depends on actual usage conditions. This translates to around 6-7 hours of screen-on time before you need to juice up your phone. If you’re a heavy user who’s constantly online, using the GPS and taking pictures and videos, screen-on time may dip below six hours, and a recharge might be necessary before the end of the day. Unlimited Bundle: An Unlimited Pay as you go Bundle lasts for 30 days. Your bundle will automatically renew every 30 days if you have enough credit. To opt out call 2345. Includes unlimited data and unlimited minutes and texts: minutes to standard mobiles and landlines (UK: 01, 02, 03) and standard texts (excluding MMS) to use in the UK and Zone A. Unlimited Bundle terms, exclusions and destinations

Color reproduction is excellent, and the OLED screen is great for watching movies and videos on. Huawei has also increased the refresh rate to 120Hz, up from 90Hz on the P40 Pro, which makes navigating the UI or scrolling through apps super-smooth. You can set the refresh rate to Dynamic, which adjusts the refresh rate depending on what you’re doing on your phone, to save battery life, but you’ll get the smoothest all-round experience by setting it to High. Roaming: using your home data plan to roam in Zone A is included in all of our Pay Monthly plans. For roaming in other destinations, charges will apply depending on which plan you are on. This includes a 40MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide one which doubles up as a macro snapper, and a 32MP ‘super spectrum’ camera, which allows for fluorescent photography – capturing details that the human eye can’t ordinarily see.

There are a number of reasons for the delay, including the global semiconductor shortage, which might also be the reason the handset is only 4G-enabled. But was it worth the wait? Huawei P50 Pro review: Design Now onto the department Huawei phones are known for: their cameras. The standard P50 has three rear shooters, with a 50MP main, 12MP periscope zoom and 12MP ultra-wide snapper. That's a fair complement of cameras, with the periscope module supporting 5x optical zoom. Maximum brightness is rather good, too, with the screen pushing out a peak luminance of 597cd/m². My only slight complaint with the P50 Pro’s screen is that peak HDR brightness is rather low – we measured the iPhone 13 Pro at 1,200 cd/m², which is almost double what the P50 Pro managed in our tests. Huawei P50 Pro review: Performance and battery life This all means that the P50 Pro is a serious hardware treat with some massive experience clangers, despite Huawei’s best efforts. For European customers, the P50 Pro comes with its EMUI 12, rather than the HarmonyOS software used in China. It has a slightly messy default UI full of subfolders and apps you'll never use or see again if you leave the Huawei ecosystem. but these can be switched about effortlessly.

Huawei P50 Pro Price in UK 2023

The chipset is teamed up with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on our review model, which should be sufficient storage for most people, but 128GB and 512GB versions are available in other markets, with the latter also getting a bump in RAM to 12GB. The Huawei P50 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset found in most of last year’s flagship phones of last year, with one omission: it only comes with an LTE/4G connectivity. The Huawei P50 Pro wins on charging speeds, however. With support for 66W wired, it supersedes the 40W on the P40 Pro. It’s a similar story with wireless charging, where the P50 Pro supports 50W and the P40 Pro supports 27W. Takeaway HarmonyOS was designed to work well in collaboration with other Huawei devices, so if you have a tablet or smartwatch from the company you should be able to make the most of it.
