The new Pro router on the inside reminds me of the similarly-specced GT-AX6000, part of Asus's ROG Rapture gaming hardware. To add on to my above comment, I am not price sensitive so am willing to spend more to get the best model — but I obviously also don’t want to throw away money if a certain “upgrade” isn’t worth it. -Mark Reply When you are away from home, the ASUS Instant Guard mobile app gives you one-tap secure internet access via your RT-AX88U Pro router*, thanks to its encrypted VPN tunneling technology. Our newly upgraded app even lets you easily share this worry-free network connection with your family and friends through a URL link. It’s hard to know, Mutoo. Your issue might be Internet-related and not necessarily Wi-Fi — they are two different things. But upgrading to Wi-Fi 6 won’t hurt in your case. It’s best to run network cables, though. ReplyWi-Fi Encryption : WPA3-Personal, WPA2-Personal, WPA-Personal, WPA-Enterprise , WPA2-Enterprise , WPS support Three years ago, the Asus RT-AX88U Pro would have been tremendous. The router has everything you'd look for in a Wi-Fi 6 machine. Apple and most device manufacturers support 160 Mhz channel width only on 6Ghz Wifi 6e band. So you will always get 1.2 Gbps link speeds if you use Wifi 6e iPad Pros from late 2022 with this router and not 2.4 Gbps link which your iPad is capable off if you had a REAL Wifi 6e router. Thank you for sharing your view of the RT-AX88U Pro. Want to share some context before I ask a few questions.

Read this post and then this one on the RT-AX86U Pro, Mark. I generally don’t make the financial decision for folks — more on that and routers in general here. Reply Read your posts about waiting for a few firmware updates before jumping in. Whats the best way to stay on top of that info? Also, be aware of those doorbell cameras and “smart” devices. They are really bad for your network if you have too many of them. Reply This post will help with those questions. The gist is if pricing is the same, then there’s no reason not to get the Pro version. And The RT-AX86S can be a good choice for a non-demanding home. I knew I’d never, ever see that couple-hundred Mbps the RT-AX88U Pro supposedly offers over the RT-AX86U Pro for 802.11ax, and I really only use 2.4 GHz for low-bandwidth IoT devices that don’t support 5 GHz anyway.

My question is: Can I still use multiple devices on just the one USB port? , ie how many can I “daisy chain” off a hub? Which one would you buy if they were same price between AX88u pro and GT-AX6000 ? I know situations differ, I’m not so much interested in the ROG lighting or situational features as much as I’m interested in reliability and range. On our 5GHz close proximity test, the RT-AX86U garnered an impressive score of 831Mbps, which was identical to the AX11000’s score and 49Mbps faster than the RT-AX88U. The MR9600 led with a score of 840Mbps. At a distance of 30 feet the RT-AX86U (237Mbps) edged the MR9600 (228Mbps) but could not keep pace with the AX11000 (328Mbps) or the RT-AX88U (318Mbps).

without anti-virus capabilities such as IoT devices. RT-AX86 Series includes lifetime free AiProtection The Asus RT-AX86U doesn’t disappoint when it comes to performance either. It was able to push our 50Mbps Internet connection to the limit, actually squeezing a little extra speed out of it to hit 59.3Mbps for devices in the same room as our main broadband router. I took note of the release notes for 3.0.0.4.388_23110 and did a full factory reset after upgrade (including the unit which is now running Merlin). I'm not sure if the changes in that version are why I am finding it so much better. It shares all common features and settings collectively available in Asus Wi-Fi routers, as I detailed in this primer post. It's similar to any Dual-band Asus Wi-Fi 6 router, including the non-Pro version or the GT-AX6000. I don’t know what you meant by “Operation,” but if you read the post, you’d know what I’d recommend.
