In 60 BBY, Mandalore Jaster Mereel issued his Supercommando Codex. Jaster's men served as mercenaries and warriors for hire, but their primary goal was to hunt the Death Watch. During the Mandalorian Civil War, the Supercommandos loyal to Mereel's True Mandalorian faction were eliminated to the last man at the Battle of Galidraan in the year 44 BBY. Following the war, many Supercommandos traveled throughout the galaxy as mercenaries. Decades later, during the Clone Wars, Mandalore the Resurrector and Fenn Shysa trained a battalion of Supercommandos that raided Republic holdings as Separatist mercenaries. By the end of the war, a large number of Supercommandos including those of the Mandalorian Protectors, had been killed in action. It is unknown if Shysa's later incarnation of the Mandalorian Protectors used the term Supercommando. By the time of the Second Galactic Civil War in 40 ABY, Mandalore Boba Fett had a total of one hundred Supercommandos to call on including Fett's granddaughter Mirta Gev, her fiancé Ghes Orade, Orade's adoptive father Novoc Vevut, Baltan Carid, Ram Zerimar, and Goran Beviin. He's the Emperor's Hand, the acting ruler and governor of Mandalore." ―Sabine and Tristan Wren [11] Gar Saxon was guilty of treason against the throne, collaboration with our enemy, and the execution of my fellow Protectors. But when the rest of Mandalore finds out about his death, there will be chaos." ―Fenn Rau after the death of Gar Saxon [11] Saxon traveled with a complement of super commandos to the Wren Stronghold on the planet Krownest, where members of Clan Wren had encircled Sabine and the two Jedi, one being Ezra Bridger, whom he had fought with previously, and the second being Bridger's master Kanan Jarrus. Saxon called upon Ursa to give him the Darksaber, which she had previously retrieved from her daughter to bargain her life with, seeking the ancient weapon to firmly cement his rule over Mandalore as legitimate. With the Darksaber in hand, Saxon declared that Ursa and all of Clan Wren had indeed held their end of the bargain, but to do so had consorted with traitors, making them liable to treason, for which he intended to wipe out the entire clan as an example. When Tristan Wren, son of Ursa and brother of Sabine, protested and said they were all Mandalorian therefore making such a betrayal unreasonable, Saxon realized he still had use and offered him a place to stay with the Empire over his family. To the Viceroy's satisfaction, Tristan initially seemed to side with him before declaring his place was at his family's side. Unconcerned, Saxon declared that Clan Wren would end with him and ignited the Darksaber as a signal to his men. [11]

The Mandalorian Super Commandos cost 4PC with 0 force points, 8 stamina, and 2 durability which puts them in the average making them easy to list build with and fine from a health standpoint. The 501st is led into battle by CC-7567 Captain Rex as the Secondary unit with his trusty 501st Clone Troopers as his Supporting unit. There! As soon as we're underneath their firing range—attach to their ship!" ―Maul to Rook Kast, as the two prepare to board Grievous's command ship [2] After the Mandalorian Civil War, the New Mandalorians led by Duchess Satine Kryze adopted and created a pacifist society, a sharp turn from Mandalore's warrior culture. Those who did not accept were exiled to Concordia, and by the time of the Clone Wars were thought to have died out. In reality, however, warriors were still active and grouped into the organization known as Death Watch, which was secretly led by Pre Vizsla. The Mandalorian bounty hunter and foundling Jango Fett, who participated in the Mandalorian Civil Wars, was a famous individual who wore a distinctive set of Mandalorian armor, although the New Mandalorian government did not know how he obtained it. [11] Death Watch was active throughout the Clone Wars, eventually joining the Shadow Collective led by Maul and overthrew the New Mandalorian government and civil war erupted once again. [5] Gar Saxon first appeared in the 2014 Dark Horse Comics Star Wars: Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir, which was based on four uncompleted Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes. Saxon later appeared in Star Wars Rebels, where he was voiced by Ray Stevenson, who later reprised his role in the seventh season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The Mandaloriantakes place five years after Return of the Jedi. The Rebel Alliance has become the New Republic and has ousted the remnants of the Empire from most of the galaxy. Only Imperial warlords and smaller cells of the Emperor’s forces remain, and mostly in the Outer Rim where the New Republic doesn’t yet have enough pull. Gar Saxon was a member of Clan Saxon and the Death Watch, a group of Mandalorians that opposed the pacifist government of Mandalore. He [3] served under Pre Vizsla until Vizsla was killed by Maul in a duel for control of Mandalore. [12] Saxon then became fully devoted to his new leader. [10] Clan Kryze Mandalorians bring Skirmish Tactics to the table and this stance is somewhat unique because you get 2 different starting nodes in the combat tree. Right off the bat you get the choice of a shove or a pinned condition. Once you hit your third node you get another choice of either disarmed or exposed conditions. Sprinkle in a few shoves and that’s a good looking tree. Defensively they only get 4 defense dice in melee but that does go up to 5 at ranged. For ranged combat they get 6 dice at range 4 (which will more likely be 8 with the free focus and sharpshooter). In Melee, they only roll 5 and their expertise starts really slow at only 1 success but getting 2 crits for 3 expertise results isn’t too bad. Separatists Close Support is Bo-Katan’s stance card which has a combat tree with early branching to provide options with access to a lot of shoves, an easy pin, and extra mobility. Defensively Bo-Katan only rolls 4 dice at range and melee but her defensive innate abilities help to compensate for this. At range 4 Bo-Katan gets to roll 6 dice and in melee she rolls 7 (these will more likely be 7 and 8 respectively with the free focus). At both melee and range Bo-Katan gets the same expertise chart which get access to a crit at 2 expertise and has the potential for 2 crits and damage at 4 expertise. It remains to be seen if this warrior race will ever be able to regroup and grow its numbers — the foundlings they protect and raise as Mandalorians may be their last hope — but now that this tribe is out in the open after the climax of episode 3, who knows what might be next for the group. Hopefully, the show will continue to explore more about this culture and perhaps even open a path for them to return to Mandalore.Rook Kast first appeared in Star Wars: Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir, a four-part comic miniseries written by Jeremy Barlow with art by Juan Frigeri [20] that ran from May [21] to August in 2014 [22] and was adapted from unfinished episodes of the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. [23] Prior to the release of Son of Dathomir, Kast was first mentioned in the " Blaster" section of Star Wars Insider 149, [24] released on April 22, 2014, [25] as one of the new things fans could expect to see in Son of Dathomir. [24] Kast later appeared in the seventh season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where she was voiced by Vanessa Marshall. [5]

We've been boarded-- two Jedi have been spotted in hangar three." ―Kast informs Maul of the arrival of the Jedi [14] Ahsoka episode 5 introduces Darth Maul's Mandalorian super commandos in live-action, showcasing their distinctive horned helmets and violent design. Captain Rex comes in at 4PC and has 0 force points, 9 stamina, and 2 durability. This seems to be close to standard for the core set meaning he will be easy to switch between squads for list building purposes. As leader of the Empire's Super Commandos, Saxon wore their Super Commando armor with the color red. [18] Behind the scenes [ ] Despite being some of the coolest Mandalorians, Ahsoka episode 5 marks the first time Mandalorian super commandos have appeared in live-action. This is mostly due to the fact that very little live-action Star Wars material has covered content from The Clone Wars. Another reason they’ve never shown up is the in-universe short amount of time they existed. Darth Maul ruled Mandalore for less than a year, and while there were many Mandalorians who chose to follow him, most of were captured or killed during Ahsoka and Bo-Katan’s Siege. It is not yet clear whether Moff Gideon's new Super-Commando-inspired troops are Mandalorians, though it seems unlikely given how few Mandalorians are left and how hard it would be for the Empire to earn their loyalty after the Purge. Instead, these new troops appear to be standard Imperial recruits who have been equipped with armor inspired by the original Super Commandos. This time, though, the use of beskar armor is not intended to simply level the playing field between the Super Commandos and Mandalorians. Gideon makes clear that he is utilizing the beskar to build an army that can reclaim the galaxy.
