Description

Apollo tells his sister Artemis that Persephone and Hades have been hanging out. This is an issue because Persephone isn’t meant to have a boyfriend. Ever. Then again, I assumed they (THEY?) just looked for something with a pastel cover and clapped their hands in joy. I don't personally get the hype, but I can see why this was successful as a webtoon. Minthe tells Thanatos they can’t hook up any more. They decide they need to do something about Persephone. Smart, sexy, romantic, and full of heart . . . an unforgettable and startlingly relatable epic that combines addictive storytelling, engaging characters, and a lush, unmistakable art style.” —Kami Garcia, New York Times bestselling author of Teen Titans: Raven and coauthor of Beautiful Creatures

Hera speaks to Zeus about her vision and the theory that it was Apollo who hurt Persephone. Zeus is worried about ruining Apollo’s reputation. Hera spits on Zeus. A sweepingly romantic story that offers new meaning with each and every rereading, Rachel Smythe’s Lore Olympus perfectly balances humor and tragedy, heartbreak and desire. Fans who enjoyed it as a webcomic will be thrilled to hold this luscious work of art in their hands.” —Jo Rochelle, creator of Girl Wonder podcast Steamy, often laugh-out-loud funny and emotional' Jennifer L. Armentrout, # 1 New York Times bestselling author of From Blood and Ash Moody, beautiful, and funny . . . Be transported to a gorgeous reimagining of Greek gods in a modern fantasy setting. Romance, drama, trauma, and goofs! You will not be able to put this down once you start!” —Babs Tarr, professional comic artistHades: I love how Grumpy he is sometimes and yet so soft for Persephone 🥺 and the way he was jealous of his own dog Cerberus because Persephone was touching the dog 🥹 Persephone is a huge ball of sunshine, even when everything around her is falling apart, she manages to get through the day with a smile on her face. That brings us to the Apollo issue at hand, he's 24/7 on jerk duty for real! Persephone darling, we love you but you can't just let random men walk all over you and take advantage of your kind heart. It was sad to see her struggling to deal with the whole situation and feeling like she couldn't confide in anyone. Where is protective Demeter when we need her?! Her daughter is having a hard time fitting in Olympus all alone and she is doing what? Mientras lees Lore Olympus lo único en lo que piensas es que quieres que todo salga bien para Hades y Perséfone, que por fin se confiesen sus sentimientos, que dejen los prejuicios de lado y por fin decidan ser felices y estar juntos. I don't want to just descend into laughing at things teenage girls like - it's condescending sexist shittiness. Persephone tells Hades that she’s still getting used to the rules in this realm. In the mortal realm she would sleep under the stars with all the nymphs, but here in Olympus everyone is quite conservative.

Artemis recalls how they all decided to accept Persephone into the Goddesses of Eternal Maidenhood upon Demeter’s request. Artemis offered to let Persephone live with her because she could see that her mother was being stifling and over protective. Hera: She's funny and witty and I love how protective she is of Persephone 🥺 I want more of her and Zeus since they both look so adorable in this!! the art in this is just my favorite ever. i rly don't think i'd love the webtoon as much if it weren't for the unique style and colors. there were panels that i'd straight up just buy as wall art

Hades finds her there when he gets home, takes her in, and lets her stay the night. Persephone wakes up very confused and embarrassed, but Hades explains the situation to her and she relaxes a little bit more. They talk (and fliiiirrt) and soon it becomes clear Persephone is equally smitten with the king of the dead. He takes her home, and after that, they can hardly stop thinking about each other. The ending in this was just sad 😭 It was lovely too see how Hades was so smitten by Persephone. I hated how trapped Persephone feels and that she needs to prove herself 😭 She deserves the world and Hades!!! I NEED MORE OF THEM!!! It is Persephone's birthday, and she receives the ultimate gift: Hades confesses his desire for her, leading to their first kiss. But that doesn't necessarily make things easier for the goddess of spring, who is still in over her head in gossip-driven Olympus. Persephone feels intense guilt over the official breakup between Hades and Minthe, she is struggling to find her footing in her fast-paced job, and - worst of all - the shades of her past are slowly coming to light. Persephone heads to work in the Underworld. Hecate shows her the library where the scrolls of life are kept. Hecate tells Persephone she’ll be helping out with deciding dead people’s fates. All in all, I thought this was okay, but I have to admit that I expected more from this because of all the hype it had.

Hades asks Persephone how she ended up in tower 4. Persephone once again keeps Minthe’s secret and instead says she got turned around. Hades knows she’s lying. Witness what the gods do after dark in the sixth volume of a stylish and contemporary reimagining of one of the best-known stories in Greek mythology, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes content from creator Rachel Smythe. Witness what the gods do after dark in the fifth volume of a stylish and contemporary reimagining of one of the best-known stories in Greek mythology, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes content from creator Rachel Smythe. Hecate makes Hades take Persephone on the rest of the tour of the Underworld. She tells Minthe to rearrange his schedule. Six months later addendum: That might be true, lots of rape in ye olde mythology, but I do question why you'd add that to your soapy romance that's mostly read by teens. Feels unnecessary, Rachel Smythe!]But of course, they can't be together because Persephone is supposed to be a candidate for the goddesses of eternal maidenhood. This is one of the GoodReads choice award winners where I was like, "YESS, THIS IS THE ONE THAT SHOULDA WON" Lore Olympus is a modern spin on the original tale of Hades kidnapping Persephone to be his wife (doesn't happen like that in this version obviously, it's 2021 people). In this retelling, Persephone is a college student, studying at a university in Olympus. She grew up living a rather sheltered life with an overprotective mother (Demeter), who has only allowed her to come to the city because she's on a scholarship from the Goddesses of Eternal Maidenhood, meaning she has to remain a sacred virgin. Persephone is staying with Artemis, one of the members of the organization.

Add it: Goodreads Goodreads Summary: All of Olympus--and the Underworld--are talking about the God of the Dead and the sprightly daughter of Demeter. But despite the rumors of their romance, Hades and Persephone have plenty to navigate on their own. Aphrodite goes to collect Eros from the waiting room. She has to speak to Zeus because Eros killed thirty mortals without permission. Aphrodite seduces Zeus so he won’t punish her son. Again, this may be due to the fact that this has been miscategorized as something someone who enjoys regular comics would want to read.Artemis: she's so funny, lovely and so damn better than her brother. And the way she said that boys are not allowed in her house but then let Eros in because he brings donuts for her and Persephone 🤣💗 Minthe: I hate her that's all and I know she's going to behave like a bitch in the upcoming storyline 😠
