Middle grade readers who love graphic novels about friendship and magic will want to check out this book list about the Making Friends books. On a more superficial level, there were also a lot of pop culture parodied in this comic that were things that I loved when I was a kid. My love of books has been carefully cultivated by the adults who raised me and also by the friends who love to share. While sketching her favorite evil prince from the beloved anime Solar Sisters, she discovers that anything she draws in the notebook becomes real.Family definitely seems unable to provide Dany with a good foundation in harmony and friendship; that she has to figure out herself.

I've read quite a few positive reviews, to try to understand what it is people enjoy about the book, and it seems that a lot of people really love the humor, and some the magical conceit (girl draws things in magic notebook that then become real).Even with significant editing, it is hard to imagine this story becoming visually appealing or coherent. This book has made a massive positive impact on my social life and it’s still the top-recommended book on social skills despite being written in the 1930s. As an adult reader there were a few jokes that seemed more appropriate for me than a middle grade audience. A really lovely simple read, I particularly like the repetition to make the book familiar as you go through and repeat the story.

However, while Friendshift was about friendship in general in adulthood, this one is focused on broken friendships in adulthood. This subtle picture book is sure to help young people develop important skills of empathy and emotional intelligence. This story is great for younger kids to acknowledge how all your actions have a consequence; On the other hand, older kids/teens will love that it explores the be-careful-what-you-wish-for trope in a fresh way. Once she understands the sketchbook’s power, she decides to draw an awesome new best friend, Madison. Additionally this book reveals that Dany wiped the minds of the students, including her friends, and faculty who saw the fight in Making Friends, fearing the consequences of others knowing that she has a magical sketchbook and powers from the objects that she has made with it. With this newfound magical ability, Dany decides to draw the perfect best friend, Madison, who will make all of her troubles go away.
