Instead of being uplifting, I found it so incredibly sad and after finishing it, it left me in such a depressed mood. We also begin to see some chapters in Keller’s perspective, and we experience how he fell in love with Kate. Being the author and illustrator (in control of the “show” and the “tell”) allowed me to leverage both things and keep them uncommitted up until the very end. So I’m not telling you what all goes down, or really any of the many events that will just leave you in awe of this book and this magnificent author’s writing.

She’s a successful young architect from Northern England with an adorable smile, sarcasm for days, and an unparalleled trusting heart. They were almost synchronised with each other to the extent that they were only fully complete when they were together.And when it does, it feels less like facing a gust of wind on a winter day than getting swamped by a frozen wave in the dead of January. I just felt very indifferent towards this book and I don't feel like I would've missed out on anything had I not read it. I don’t even know how yet, but like I said, you don’t read a phenomenal book like Bright Side without it changing you a little.

Happily, those very friends will see him through difficult times, helping him find a way to deal with them, usually with laughter and good humour. Crappy things are happening out there, things that break your heart on the evening news, and sometimes it’s easier to just drift along and float above the clouds than to actually sink down deep and risk getting hurt.

I thought the story had several aspects that felt forced and inorganic, nevertheless, I was completely invested in Kate (aka Bright Side); although not so much the numerous side characters as they felt like props whose main function was to make “Bright Side” look all bright, sunny, and perfect.

What I love the most about this book is that it’s not exactly a romance but rather a story about life. It’s kinda funny to me because this book is two years old so most of you have probably read it but still! It's about living it to the fullest and not taking it for granted because life could easily take an unexpected turn.Now that I’ve finished it, the first thing that popped up in my mind was well, that wasn’t what I expected. If I were to describe each half of the book with an expression, it would be like : 1st half- WTF I AM READING!

I inhaled Bright Side in one sitting and when it was over, I was left staring into space and I’m not really sure how to adequately convey my thoughts and express my feelings.And in my reality people don’t fall in love and get married and live happily ever after, because life is complicated.
